I've been watching few almost unknown Thai martial arts films, not that I watch these stuffs anymore but just to please my partner who really enjoys watching 'em, and except for their very cheap looking production and scenes, I was really surprised how good their martial arts were, both the choreography and the artists. They are almost at par with the best. And there's this teenage girl in a movie titled 'Chocolate' who's as good as some of her male counterparts. Check 'em out if you're a serious martial arts film enthusiast.

Definitely goes to Ip Man. It was a damn awesome experience to watch it. Not really digging the sequel though.

...into karate since kid, even before Bruce became famous, it's hard for me to appreciate martial arts movie these dayz, some of the cinematic tricks and theatrics are too obvious for us... but I liked the scene of 'snake charmer' kung-fu lady (at the Shaolin temple?) in the latest Karate Kid movie... I miss the old school drunken master series a bit though, they were always entertaining...

...when ol' Bruce just became famous in Japan, me and my friends went to watch his movies in the city of Naha. After watching couple of them, we were still not that familiar with Bruce and so on the third movie, we started to notice, 'hey guys, don't you think Bruce kinda look odd today, he looks a bit different.' No wonder, it was just a start of series of fakish Hongkong made Bruce Lee movies. Then, being the only one who could read English there among the gang (I was a so-called military brat then), I said, hey guys, it's miss-spelled, Bruce Li...and up to Bruce Le down the road. You see fellas, in Japanese alphabet, the Li, Le etc., are all spelled the same as Lee, and so the Japanese kids were all fooled into thinking that they were going to watch the real Bruce, not the macoy...

Growing up was bloodsport, kickboxer, enter the dragon. Then I found out about drunken master and other ones that I can't really remember, but I think the one that got me was IP MAN. That movie had got to be one of the best movie made. Having to know who ip man was and who he trained is inspiring because the person he trained is and was the best kung fu teachers to establish so many techniques to create his own style.

Watched Dragon and it is a good and clever film. It was a bit gory and not child friendly but martial arts fights were brilliant.

Watched King Boxer 1973, the film was responsible for beginning the kung fu film craze of the 1970s, though it is overshadowed by Enter the Dragon released later that same year.

The film has a cult following in the U.S., and was referenced in Quentin Tarantino's film Kill Bill, which sampled the theme from the television series ironside. The music was used by Talk sport radio in the section "Heads Gone".

Come Drink with me 1966 film which has a lot of sword fighting. You can see the western type scenes in the film and the special moves are very dated. The physical violence is extreme.

Watched one armed swordsman which was actually better than I was expecting. It had good fighting action, story line and characters. It was about honour, integrity, humility and courage.
