Think chavez jr is an easier fight than martinez for barker, no one gave barker a chance in hell against martinez (myself included!) and he did well, maybe he could pull it off against jr??
I think Barker could beat JCC Jnr but maybe this is a way of stepping up a bit in competition for JCC Jnr and testing how he gets on in comparison with Martinez.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
Barker's Britain's best middleweight, in my opinion. I don't think he'd struggle with Macklin. In fact, Martin Murray may even be a trickier fight for him.
I've seen enough of Chavez Jr to think Barker would have a chance, but whether he'd have quite enough, especially in Mexico, i'm not sure.
I'll be amazed if this fight happens.
Make or break for both though, the loser will lose all credibility in the top 10 at middle and wont see another big fight for a while.
Is this on? Or is it just rumours?
Jr isn't gonna fight shit, he'll probably take on fucking Yory Boy Campas or Alfonso Gomez next![]()
it would be a good fight. Barker put on a good performance against Martinez, while Chavez imo showed great potential in his last 2 fights, if he boxes smartly and doesn't get into brawls. Chavez is young and still learning how to behave in the ring. Chavez UD , as the fight would be in Mexico and Chavez always gets the upper hand with the judges in close fights
I had manfredo winning the fight before JCC jnr stopped him, not impressed with Junior at all.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
Jr would get mad props if he were to take on Marco Antonio Rubio.. If not Sergio, at least Rubio...
Not saying that Rubio is any easier but at least he's not as tricky..
I honestly saw Chavez winning all of the rounds. The only round that could go either way imo , was the 4th
Mexico = Altitude
They should wait a couple of months till it's getting hot then fight Barker![]()
I'd be surprised if this fight happens, too risky for Chavez Jr. He'll drag out someone like Ishiida or Mora, but they might be a little to live as well. How about Karmazin or Ouma?
I'll give Chavez Jr huge props if he fights Barker
