Hope Shane wins this but will lose, but hope he pulls the victory, if he does not then Shane should really call it a day. Losing to the 2 best p4p fighters is not a bad thing but losing to a rising and limited contender is.

Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
This will be like the young nephew beating up his dear uncle who drinks too much and still thinks he can relive his glory on a family holiday. Oscar cooking up a doozie.
I don't agree with the sentiment here at all. Against pbf and pacquiao, Mosley couldn't get off because he knew what was coming back at him plus both of those guys could just dominate in whatever range they wanted. Against mora, mora just didn't want it and fought a 'negative' fight and got a criminal draw for his efforts. Canelo has become a better boxer but is still super young and super green. Mosley has freakish strength for someone his size and will in no way be bullied over. If Mosley has anything left to give, Alvarez would be the perfect showcase opponent. He's refined his defense but he's still very flatfooted, very deliberate and if Mosley can keep him from working in combination a la margarito then he poses a real big threat. I'm not even sure the Mosley from the margarito and mayweather fights are all to different from one another. I think it's all about the styles. <br />

Alvarez is what, 22 years old? Do not write off Shane Mosley. Not in this fight.
Canelo still a work in progress, fighter to me he may be a champ, but I feel
he will walk throe Mosley, and Shane is no were the great fighter he once was.?
Pity Mosley, need's the money but he is way past his best, in the fight with Floyd,
I feel did carry him Floyd , could have KO him any time in that fight.
Most of you may think me being to hard on Shane, but as the saying go's money
talk's bullshit walk's, Shane get's his money, Canelo get's his Victoria.?![]()
I like Canelo, this will be a good test for him, Mosley will have a bit of extra weight which could help him at this stage of his career, its a shame Shanes turned into a bit of a gate keeper but if he needs the money who are we to deny him another reasonable pay day.
I have Mosley in this one if it goes down.
Mosley hasn't looked good in his last three fights but it should be taken into account that two of those fights were against two of the best fighters in the sport ( Mayweather and Pacquiao) and Sergio Mora caused Mosley problems because of his size advantage and good movement.
I don't think Canelo poses any of the problems for Mosley plus he works into Mosley's style because he's not much of a boxer and he's hittable.
To the poster who said canelo is " super green ", you couldnt be more wrong..
Canelo is not " super green ".. He's ready for the elites..
I just don't think so. It wasn't that long ago that he got rocked by Jose cotto. Ok so he's not super green but he's certainly not a finished product by any means. I just think this is a bad style match up for Alvarez.
Agreed. I actually thought that was good matchmaking because I do feel that Alvarez would have eventually stopped Gomez but gomez would still frustrate him early. As far as Mosley has fallen, he is 100 times the fighter of Gomez still. I think I would pick Mosley here.
I want nothing more than to see Mosley turn back the clock and expose the holes in Canelos game...taking jabs, fast hands with volume, and someone who is brought in to not play a foil...etc, but I just don't know with Mosley anymore with his mentality over last three. Style wise Canelo is not the boxers boxer Mayweather and Pac are but I didn't like Shanes level of 'acceptance' in there. He didn't pounce on a shook and drunk Mayweather, instead he settled and tried to box or out speed him, with Manny he just settled and while I'll never question his heart...I'll most certainly question his fire & volume at this point in career, not to mention the chatter of getting out at some point in corner?! His jab is MIA and has that ever so present pattern of step in, step in, throw away jab, loaaad up! His chin is intact, he still has pop but this is the epitome of a massive crossroads fight with great name past stars vs overly pushed prospects/investments and one big promotional family event. You may actually see Canelo put on a boxing show early of his own with some substantial body work keeping an aged and somewhat predictable Mosley stationary and feeling it as it goes. I just don't think Mosley has the combo hand speed and feet anymore to school a kid who still looks to be there for it at times. Chin...check....experience....check but in this rare case, I favor youth![]()

My problem is less with Mosley himself than, as ElTerrible said above, there are just so many better choices. He had showcase fights against Gomez and Cintron and because of those victories most have him ranked in the top 5 of the division yet he is hasn't faced one person in the top ten! I like Alvarez's potential but that is the definition of overrated. Consider that Kirkland (beat Angulo recently) and Molina (beat Lara imo) are squaring off in their next fight while Alvarez is fighting Shane Mosley and Alvarez is ranked higher than either of them!![]()
Now is time to face a live body in the top ten of the division. For example, face someone like Vanes Martirosyan, K9, Dzinziruk, all of whom he would be favored to beat. It's time to earn his stripes. How long will he be coddled?
What has Mosley done to earn this shot? He has lost or drew in his last three fights and in two of those fights many fans complained because Mosley just came to survive. Recall that Pacquiao got a ton of crap for facing Mosley after Mosley's performance against Mayweather and Mora. So, now it is ok for Canelo to face him? It doesn't make sense.
