Promoters also get IN THE WAY of fights. The public wants it, the fighters want it.... but the promoter waits until "the time is right", which translated into plain English, means he puts on the fight only when it serves his own best interests. Sometimes, by the time the fight DOES go down, the peaks are lost. But us boxing fans, being the insatiable bunch we are, nevertheless flock to the PPV's, no matter how much the promoters are screwing everybody over.
Notice the trend here? High profile fighters leaving the Arums to promote their OWN fights? Let's hope this continues, and that it brings about some much needed changes.
