    eh eh!!!

I think you're being very kind to Frank.

He was losing to Witherspoon and was detroyed twice by Tyson and once by Lewis (although he won the jab war in the early rounds against Lewis) He was hanging on for dear life against McCall, thank god that fight didn't last another 30 seconds!
I haven't seen the Witherspoon fight for a long time, but i remember Bruno being ahead by a few rounds. And 2 of the judges had him ahead by 3 rounds.

I thought Lennox Lewis was also behind on points, or at worst for Bruno it was an even fight. Its a shame because Bruno had Lewis in trouble a few times, especially in that 7th round, but strangely he didn't take full advantage of it and he allowed Lewis to land that left hook a punch Lewis wasn't known for either.

I think barring the Tyson fights, Bruno was ahead on points in all his other losses.

I think barring the Tyson fights and Bruno should never have given Tyson a shot at his TITLE, Bruno was ahead on points in all his other losses.

I thought that was the case with Witherspoon...I know Whitherspoon came in unfit because he was in argument with Don King about his purse (surprise surprise)......and yes Bruno was doing well against Lewis (I was there)!!!

and I do beleive Bruno was winning against Bonecrusher until the bad stamina kicked in

So really Bruno only lost to Tyson and Lewis....the other defeats were due to stamina and DON'T COUNT!!!

so he should of finished with a nice record of 43-1 (3

he never really lost to lewis either coz he was winning the fight by miles and lewis closed his eyes and took a swing and it caught bruno

luckiest punch in the history of boxing

lewis says the mccall punch was lucky, well it isnt a patch on the punch that won him the fight against bruno, watch it if you dont believe me, lewis is getting beat up and his eyes are completely shut and he takes a swing

and bruno couldnt be bothered in the second tyson fight, so that one dunt count either

Witherspoon was well conditioned in that fight. In an interview on Box Nations, he said he was well prepared for the fight with Bruno. The fight he was not mentally and physically ready, was the one round KO by Bonecrusher Smith. That was the fight that Tim said he could not care less.

Bruno must be one of the hardest hitting heavyweight ever, up there with Foreman, Shavers and Lyle. Just unlucky to have to fight prime Witherspoon, Tyson and Lennox. Lucky Oliver McCall held a version of the title otherwise he never would have won the title.

I remember years ago some magazine claimed they measured Brunos punch power on a machine and it was equivalent to the force of a sledgehammer. True or not i don't know but i deffo remember the article. All i can dig up is this article on punch power
What is the hardest recorded punch

I grew up on Bruno and me and my Brother used to get free tickets to the Royal Albert Hall in London through Micky Duffs secretary who was a friend of a friend..! i remember seeing Pat Barret in some good fights down their too... Great days as a kid and what a top fight venue

Bruno is pretty much the reason i got hooked on Boxing as a kid

Will never forget that night - the whole pub shouting 'hold him Frank, hold him !!' and willing him to get to the bell against McCall. A real feel good factor and such emotion when he got the decision. Even the men were hugging

I'm too young to remember Cooper as a fighter but Bruno has to be the most loved British fighter of my era, maybe ever ? Hatton had a bigger following to fights but his support was mostly regional. He was no p4p contender we all knew that but the whole nation loved Big Frank and yes we may never see another like him.

    You Brits love your Bruno.

My favorite Frank Bruno moment was his little interview promo before the Lennox Lewis fight. Bruno in a red tux with a damn bow tie talking in his thick accent: "I'm going to give him what you Americans call a good ass whipping ! Yes !"

"You knocked him down...now how bout you try knockin me down ?"

Bruno could be a bit robotic, but what a hell of a jab the big guy had his chin was a lot better than you
think it took a lot of punches to drop him. A nice guy to bot nothing wrong in being a nice guy in this
game at all I like big Frank.

I was glad for Big Frank that night.

He wasn't the best fighter, but he stuck at it & eventually achieved his goal.

He's a really nice guy & a credit to boxing.

I still have a McDonalds receipt that he signed for me in 1993, when I saw him in McDonalds in Hornchurch, with his wife & daughter.

No way would Bruno visit a McDonalds. Anyone going to start a missing Herbie Hide thread or Henry Akinwande.

Frank Bruno was that era's Hasim Rahman....big power, trouble with stamina, trouble when hurt, decent skill, never fully realized his potential, and only had the title for a tiny bit of time...that said, Rahman lit Lennox Lewis the fuck up with that right cross! (granted the favor was returned dramatically), but Bruno just won a decision vs Oliver McCall....hardly a dramatic win. You may be within reason to compare Bruno to Sam Peter even.

Let's be serious, Frank is a favorite because he's English...people like him the way they like all your other flawed sports stars, he's not the greatest, but he's someone you Brits can relate to.
