I expect Wlad to stop him earlier than the last time they fought just judging from past form and Wlad's a smart fighter, plus if you look at when Wlad has had rematches he's done better in all of them.

Thompson vs Chambers was supposed to be the eliminator bout, but Chambers picked up an injury and they didn't end up fighting. To Tony's credit there's not a long line of folks wanting to fight him because he's bigger than Wlad, he's a southpaw, has a solid chin, good jab, and tough defense....he's not an easy boxer to beat......he's not exciting to watch either, but there's a distinct reason other top teir heavyweights aren't lining up to fight the guy.

I don't see the point in this fight. I probably won't even bother watching.

The first fight wasn't even close and now a rematch with an even more ancient Thompson.

The Klits are becoming a bit sad.

How does Wlad motivate himself to even train for these guys, especially as he has beaten them before?

Thompson's only chance is to go right after Vlad like he has nothing to lose and pray for that miracle home run punch. If he decides to box him then he goes to sleep within 8 rounds. Vlad vs Arreola will be interesting to see if Chris comes in shape.

They are contract scrooges, won't fight away from home and both avoided James Toney in his pomp. I will be so excited to see Vitali fight Haye. Not.

At least have the decency to fight one another. It is boxing, nobody is getting killed. Just fight each other and at least give the fans a fight they would like to see.

The fight will suck, but nice location:
At Berne, Switzerland (Epix and EpixHD.com): Wladimir Klitschko vs. Tony Thompson, rematch, 12 rounds, for Klitschko's Ring/IBF/WBO/WBA heavyweight title.

I believe Wlad will attempt to KO Thompson, and add some "excitement" to the HW division in one of the earlier rounds, lets hope so, if it goes past 6 rounds it'll put everyone to sleep.

The problem is I can't really imagine who I would prefer to see Wlad face that will actually fight him (Povetkin would be a natural choice, but he won't fight). The Pulev-Dimitrenko winner would be worth a fight, as would Boystov, Chisora, or Arreola.
As much of an underdog as Cotto is against Floyd at this stage, I really think Thompson is A LOT more of an underdog. He's basically a no hoper. He's a tough solid enough guy but all he does really is jab jab jab. He lost once already, I figure he'll lose earlier and more emphatically this time. Pointless matchup, but still a step up from Mormeck who should be ashamed of himself.

They do dominate but in a boring way. They spend too much time on there opponents when they could knock them out alot earlier. They play it too safe and what the hell are they fighting this guy for. He looked crap last time, what is he gonna do this time. I would put either Helanius, Chisora or Arreola. Chisora and arreola would actually come to fight and Helanius has not had a chance yet. Im not saying they have a good chance of winning but they are the only ones who will put in the effort to win.

So that's yet another heavyweight title fight that I'm not excited about.

Of course I will watch; I always do, but the prospect of the contest does whet my appetite at all.

How can you not like Wlad? That dude is a class act! And he's willing to fight anyone and everyone, he owns his style, he makes fun of his haters "I have to protect my glass chin" ....I mean the guy is a hell of a champion.
