For the last time Thompson was a MANDATORY.

I expect Haye to "retire" again and resume his true love of talking shit on tv.

Wlad had no trouble with Haye last time and he would have no trouble fighting Haye in a rematch and mind you that Wlad has stopped 100% of the fighters he has rematched. Now Haye might want to fight Vitali, but I'm not sure that happens because Vitali will retire.

There's no denying Haye has talent. If only he'd decide to engage a Klitschko, instead of running and cowering for 12 rounds.... he might even make it a competitive fight. Especially against Vitali, who's not the smoothest, slickest boxer on the planet. If Haye changed his mind-set, and performed well against a Vitali.... who knows. Maybe Wlad would generously give him a rematch. What the hell. After all, he rematched Tony Thompson......

But I still think there's a small handful of HW's who are more deserving for a shot at a Klitschko right now. Haye took a small step in the right direction, but needs to beat a credible HW first.

Do we need any further proof that the division is in the shits?
Do they pick mandatories by shooting at a dart board full of names?

Haye doesn't have to prove anything, he's a former heavyweight "world" champ and he just annihilated a man Vitali struggled with over 12 rounds. Plus he brings all the money (most important bit) and hype.

Personally I'd rather see Haye fight Arreola or Adamek.

Not sure what post that was referring to
But you need to control that reflex action.

The previous post was ridiculing the IBF for making Tony Thompson a "mandatory."
The post before that says yeah good job in beating Chisora, but there's probably a couple more deserving HW's for a shot at a Klitschko right now.

And yeah... Haye should fight an Arreola or Adamek first. Work his way toward another fight with a Klitschko. Those shots should be earned. The Klits aren't getting any younger.

Who is more deserving than Haye?

Arreola and Adamek are both more deserving for a shot. But why doesn't Haye get himself invited to the elimination tournament the IBF is pushing?

Haye should first fight a prime contender like Povetkin, Pulev or Solis and then go for a rematch with Wlad.

He had his chance with Wlad. But if he beats a credible HW opponent, he could earn a shot at Vitali.

Povetkin, Adamek, Arreola, Pulev, Mitchell, someone on that level.

    ...and?

Their last three opponents have sucked - the fact still stands, if they fight that level of fighter then don 't be surprised if either of them fight Haye.

Why are Arreola and Adamek more deserving? They've both already been stopped by Vitali. Both have never won a "world" title.

In fact, who the hell have they beat at heavyweight that puts them in front of Haye? Audley Harrison is about the level of their best wins.

The Klits have cleaned out the division (TWICE, as they are now rematching with people they've already beaten.)

I think he will het a shot at Vitali, might be Vitali's last fight.

I just dont see it Fenster. The two brothers fight nothing alike. Vitali is far more reckless and flailing and should provide far more openings for Haye then the Wlad wall of jab and grab.

    Very true.

Against Vitali though he'll get a lot more chances to hit than he did against Wlad. Wlad is way faster of the 2 and is the much better boxer, Vitali is much tougher though. I'd like to see Haye vs Vitali as I see it being much more exciting than Wlad-Haye whoever wins.

If Haye does win then the Wlad rematch is probably a cert and Haye gets a chance to right some wrongs!
