Great ko but McKinney had a serious rifle shot of a right hand. It and light never shared the same room

Virgil Hill pulverizing Fabrice Tiozzo in the 1st. Hill won many fights on the jab alone but turned destroyer there.

Though he was hardly feather-fisted, Mike Weaver did not have an outstanding KO record and was a huge underdog when he "one-punch" knocked out heavily favored Big John Tate in the 15th round in 1980.

It's not that easy finding examples of light-handed punchers scoring memorable knockouts.

I guess anybody that Cory Spinks ever KO'ed, although they probably wouldn't be worth a mention.

Mundine's loss to the feather duster that was Sven Ottke is number one on my list. Mundine was winning the fight then "KAPOW" he went down faster than a $2 hooker!

    Indeed.

Very true Tito. I did a little historical research on some of the all time puff punchers and here are some of the results.

Tommy Loughran. Only 17 stops in 174 contests and not 1 significant ko.
Johnny Dundee. Just 23 stops in 343 and no significant ko’s
Maxie Rosenbloom. 19 out of 298 and Ditto
Todd Morgan 30 out of 220. Ditto
Jack Wolf 5 out of 120 Ditto
Nicolino Locche 14 out of 136 Ditto
Izzy Schwartz 7 out of 127 Ditto
Frankie Genaro 18 out of 131 Ditto

Even Pep who had a little power never really ko’d anyone significant. Chalky Wright was done long before he fought Willie.

It's very hard to find one-punch KOs from these guys. The stoppages guys like Pep and Locche have are all accumulation TKOs or corner stoppages from getting hit so much. It's hard to find a real clean KO.

The problem with the old school fighters with there KO percentages is that they fought so often
sometimes 3 times a month, they were always or nearly always fighting injured, busted knuckles, broken hands.

Mike McCallum one punch KO Donald Curry never happened again. Mike got his KO’s and stoppages through accumulation of brutal body shots to wear down the opponent.
