I guess Israel Vazquez has no heart either because he retired on his stool with the same injury because he could not breathe in the first Marquez fight.
What's most annoying is implying that Garcia is a "quitter" with no heart who just took the easy way out. These are the same type of idiots who criticized Cotto for taking a knee in his first fight against Margacheato. According to their "code of cojones", if you aren't willing to die in the ring, you're a fucking coward.

Its ignorant and comical at the same time. A dangerous marriage. I actually thought it was some kind of inside joke at first because nobody could be that subjective. I sit corrected.

I think it's even sillier than that, these clowns either bet money on Salido (spelled correctly) or predicted he would win, and now they're just pissed because Garcia won.

    Come on people... Seriously.

For starters at NO point did Garcia say he didn't want to fight.
His corner initiated the 2nd look at the nose.
Garcia complained about having trouble breathing.
    So you can't blame him.

For the sake of the thread let's say Garcia did flat out say he didn't want to continue.
He decked Salido 4 times in 4 rounds. Was outboxing him and making him look like an amateur. Landing at will and just beating him in every sense of the word.
Why would anyone risk moving forward in a fight you are clearly winning with a fucken broken nose and a disadvantage?

I take nothing from boxers who go thru those ropes. I think it was the right thing to do. I don't see anything different happening in rematch. Garcia should move on to bigger and better things.

To everyone bashing Garcia: you are COMPLETELY insane. Why should a guy have to fight after an illegal headbutt smashed his nose? If it was a legal punch and he quit on his stool, I'd agree. But both ring doctor's looked at it and told the ref the fight was over. What can you do?

Garcia looked sharp as a tack and gave Salido a hellacious beating for the majority of the fight. He deserved the win.

The headbutt wasn't ruled illegal during the fight. Like I already said in another thread Israel Vazquez couldn't continue because he couldn't breathe in the first Marquez fight and the ref stopped it. Why should this fight be any different?

Garcia was amile ahead and it would have been unfair for him to lose due to a butt but tough fucking luck, shit happens. And it isn't sour grapes, I picked him to win and I thought he boxed really well. But the fact remains he quit.

A headbutt is ALWAYS illegal in a boxing ring. It was ruled unintentional, which means that if the doctor decides that the fighter shouldn't continue - which in this case, they did - the fight goes to the scorecards as opposed to Salido being DQ'd.

Toughness in a boxer is the ability to withstand and persevere through physical injury and pain in the hopes of winning the fight. A guy breaks his hand, he keeps punching with it. Has his eye cut up and swollen from punches, he keeps on fighting. Being tough is taking the steps necessary - no matter how difficult - to win the fight.

Taking unneccesary risks isn't tough. It's stupidity. Fighting on when you have absolutely no need to isn't tough, it's stupid. It's not like he tried to weasle his way out of a fight by faking an injury. It was legit, the doc's wanted to stop it and they did.

Shame on anyone who questions his courage because of that. Sometimes boxing fans are illogically needy.

It makes little difference whether it was ruled intentional or not as in many cases they have still gone to the cards or its ruled long after the infraction. Had it been ruled intentional Salido could have been dq'd. The facts are the facts Mr. Lang and I guess what I'm having trouble with most is the flagrant use of the term "quit"

Duran quit against Leonard. Robinson did not quit against Maxim, Greb did not quit against Kid Graves and Garcia did not quit against Salido.

I wonder how many people here have had their nose broken or had a break that high and then tried to do anything athletically strenuous let alone box? These are prize fights with careers on the line. Keep in mind that Garcias real career and drawing years have just begone as he had just out on a clinic. Not only could he not breathe properly but he would have ran the risk of further injury to the area which could have been career ending. Seriously this is boxing 101 shit. I'm going to back out of this thread now hands at my side because I still think this is a joke from the antagonists play book.

Yup, trolling 101, it would have been been better to have just ignored the thread, the tip off was the misspelling "Solido's" name. Fucking kids have to play their games don't they.

Salido is moving up weight too and intends to have another fight soon. He has moved on and does not need to fight Garcia.

Why are there arguements about Garcia being a quitter? This is far beyond Garcia. This is about Salido, the guy would not quit despite being drop several times. He kept coming and was actually catching Garcia big time before the doctors stop the fight due to the damage on Garcia.

Like I said, the rematch shouldn't be any different, Salido falls behind early but eventually the fight will be stopped.

I'm wondering who the fuck 'Solido' is, the guy who fought, got his ass kicked, and lost a decision by a wide margin, this past Saturday was named Salido.
You seem to have watch a totally different fight than we all did?

Garcia is young, he can bounce back from this.
So is this some kind of joke? Seriously man i've come to expect this kind of childish, lame-ass shit from Rocco, who I keep on ignore most of the time. But for some reason I expected better from you.

FYI, the ring Dr. stopped the fight, but even if Garcia had decided not to continue, I sure as hell don't blame him. Why continue fighting with a broken nose, caused by a headbutt, it would give your opponent an unfair advantage, in a fight you had totally dominated.
I completely agree the ring doctor did stop the fight. You are right, Garcia is young, why continue fighting with a disadvantage like not being able to breath. Like they say, live to fight another day, I don't blame him for quitting with such a disadvantage. Hopefully in a rematch he can avenge this and actually keep the scorecard lead into a UD. Salido is a man possess, he'll keep coming. Garcia imo if he digs deep he can weather the storm and fighters like Salido will harden him.
