Okay, now you put it like that VD...this is increasingly sounding like my kind of place! I'm sure you've been to a Mexican wedding....there's gonna be 12 bridesmaids...and a free bar at their hacienda. Free bar to a Brit is like an invitation to party till I puke!

Free bar and 12 chances to score (13 if you count the bride). Sounds good. When we leaving?

I went with the Mrs in 2008 and loved it. Stayed at Chichen Itza, and Uxmal, and visited Mayan temples at Kinich Kakmo, Ek Balam,Labnah and Tulum also, all in the south. We had a week exploring the ruins and visiting a few towns and villages, caves and lagoons before a week in an all inclusive luxury place near Cancun. Best holiday we have ever had and our Guide a little Mayan guy called Antonio was a diamond. The first thing he asked me was "do you like the Ricky Hatton ?"

I know it is very different in the north but I loved every minute of it. It was the first time (in the second week) that I had been all inclusive and I spent the first few days trying to empty the minibar before the maid could refill it We were both surprised and a little bemused when we went to a karaoke thing one night that all the American and Canadian tourists took it all very seriously, and knew all the words, walking amongst the crowd like cabaret performers as they sung their C&W songs. Then a group of British girls got up totally hammered and murdered something very cheesy, out of tune and out of time which only we and a few Europeans thought was very funny ?

    Have a good one mate.

Wow....what a country. Absolutely amazing. I'll update in detail when I have all my faculties, but my liver took a pounding - particularly at the wedding, while the weather was amazing and the ass everywhere you turn is stunning.
