Burns isn't going to be fighting for about a year now. The strap will probably be vacated in some form and Beltran will fight someone for an interim type belt and win.

Him and Burns can then rematch next year for the full title, if Burns returns at all. Even of he does return, it might even be at the next weight up, so the rematch would never happen.

Boxing is a harsh sport sometimes.

By the way, the proper result should have been that this victory goes to Beltran, and that Beltran owes Burns a rematch because Burns' jaw was broken and it affected his ability to fight.
