Sidenote on Mayfield, he's a bit of a scary guy. I met him in a formal setting than later in an informal setting and it's 2 different guys. Carried himself well both times but "fake ass goons" isn't really the way to describe Mayfield or more specifically the guys he hangs out with. Mayfield has a screw loose but he's very smart, got into boxing late but you're right on in the fact that he is mentally strong and may never let off of Dulorme which is what interests me about the fight. Mayfeld has been outskilled and outclassed before but never let that stop him from winning a fight just with persistence. This pertains mostly to the beginning of his career and even the SF Golden Gloves when he was the most crude guy in the tournament. I always pick against Mayfield and I'm always wrong, but I really do think Dulorme will be able to sharpshoot him tomorrow.
Another sidenote about Mayfield, he's just an interesting guy. I had a pair of Steve Madden dress shoes when I met him. I don't know shit about fashion but he's a clothing designer in his off time (he makes boxing trunks for a lot of guys too), and they were just a pair I got for $45 from Burlington. I had a crushed velvet blazer on from Calvin Klein that was on sale at Macy's but looked nice. He immediately called me out for wearing Steve Madden shoes and a Calvin Klein jacket with a pair of Old Navy jeans. It was almost unsettling how quickly he was able to recognize this and I was just in amazement. It was pretty unreal, not to mention the fact that he seemed genuinely perturbed by this.
I don't see how that makes him terribly interesting myself. I hope he gets KO'ed for name dropping your clothes, what a boring cunt
It turned out to be a lackluster and boring match, but Dulorme won fair and square.
Total lack of a game plan for Mayfield.
"You knocked him down...now how bout you try knockin me down ?"
Just caught the Sunday replay from the 3rd round on. Yeah.... too much clinching.
