id go with SRL fought the best out there! hagler, hearns, duran impressivo record! plus he did all the cheezy 80's commercials. i also envision him with the 80's style jumpsuits ahahahhaa.

tyson def the most popular fighter of the late 80's tho. he had worldwide fame. but on skills, heart, resume id go with SRL

Sugar Ray Leonard, was heads and shoulders ahead of Mike Tyson in his prime.

But I chose Iron Mike, only because his style perfectly meshed with his physical attributes. He also was the MOST EXPLOSIVE fighter to ever grace the ring. People say he was the most powerful, but that title belongs to Big George. But Iron Mike was a special fighter in the begining. He was the master of slipping plunches.

He just never had it mentally, even when he was good. Leonard had everything that DOESN'T come predetermined in your DNA. Mike had a great trainer, physical advantages, and great leadership to guide a troubled aggressive kid. Leonard had guidance too, but he had will, determination, and heart to take him to the next level that Mike never entered. A level that skill alone can never take you too.
