Default Alexander Povetkin- the best of the best!

Perhaps the most decorated HW boxer within the last generation. More decorated in the am's than Wlad, Wilder and Solis combined. But, he was manhandled by Wlad.

    Amazing!

Wlad may break the record. If Pulev could not even come close, if Thompson lost twice, Povetkin didn't even make a dent.... then who is to stop him?

Jennings? Wilder? Who!?!? Ortiz? Stiverne? Helenius?? Who?!?!
    Bigger man George, bigger punch!

Ask @Max Power he thinks they have been quality opponents and the best fighters we have ever seen in the history of the division because they are so big, heavy and have athletic bodies.

Alexander Povetkin would be top contender in the 90's. He would have been a titlist. He would have fought on equal footing with Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield and provided serious competition for Lennox Lewis.

Alexander Povetkin would have been the best opponent Mike Tyson ever faced in the 1980's, and would have beaten Larry Holmes soundly imo.

Alexander Povetkin would have been undisputed champion from the 1970's backwards virtually unchallenged.

I did not go that far. Povetkin is a shade above Axel Shulz.

LOL Yeah sure, a shade above Axel Schultz ey. Likely story. I'm sure many will reason that conclusion with you.

Even if we are to believe this story anyway, this is the same Axel Scultz that rightfully won the lineal HW championship vs George Foreman wasn't it? The same George Foreman which bested Briggs only to be robbed ironically too. See how poorly the logic can be applied?

All we can say with certain is that Schultz played in the same league as Briggs and Foreman and that Povetkin was better than Schultz!

The same Alexander Povetkin who couldn't stop a cruiserweight?

The same cruiserweight that Steve Cunningham stopped?

This logic is retarded. Do you not see it? Fury couldnt stop Mrazek, the same Mrazek who was stopped Viera, Perez ... Fury is shit.

Povetkin is a very good boxer and his standard of opposition has been pretty decent compared to a lot of other hyped heavies.

    Simple...

Aside from your triangle theory being irrelevant in the real world...

It's only when you view Steve Cunningham and MArco Huck as what in previous times WERE REAL HW's, and only when you view Marco Huck and Steve Cunningham's records as what would then have been considered real HW records and only when you view Huck and Cunningham themselves as probably better than anything else in previous eras themselves, does everything magically fall into place and Povetkin is to be considered on his proper merits.

Tyson Fury, alexander Povetkin, adamek, valuev, Haye, chisora, klitschko, Wilder, ..... Bwahaha....

Even the Carnera, Willard, Dempsey "weak" era was light years ahead of this group.

Well that was a very objective post right there, full to the brim with so much evidence that it's almost impossible to refute you...

I got one for you, filled with about as much credibility as your post offered...

What if I told you, that Tyson Fury would have battered Primo Carnera senseless and knocked him out?

What if I told you, that Jess Willard would never have won a round against Tomasz Adamek who would have not only outboxed him every daya week, but also roughed him up and muscled him around?

What if I told you, that Valuev would have batted Jack Dempsey around like a rag doll who wouldn't have been able to land a single meaningful punch on Nic because he was so long and so massive?

I think those are all very plausible situations. I don't really need to break out any vids, pics or figures or anything like that, because EVERYBODY KNOWS IT! Intuitively, you yourself know that your boxers could not suffice as sparring partners today for any but the reddest of tomato cans.

That's what I think of your biased, BS assessment mate!
