Jesus Chavez has never gotten past 1 title defenseOriginally Posted by outspoken
He is good. But there are others who deserve it more then he does. He should fight Juan Diaz.
And Vincente Escebedo.....9-0-0.....9-0-0....yeah why not Valero, Urango, or some other young killer like that
very little british representation in fight night for yet another year only hatton in there kevin mithcell could be put in his better than escebedo and has a better record also no calzaghe (his the worlds longest reignin champ today for fuck sake)
YES FRAZIER IS SLOW PUNCHING. SLOWER THAN HE WAS WHEN HE FOUGHT ALI. ALI IS VERY CLOSE TO HIS EXACT TRUE LIFE FORM WHEN HE FOUGHT FRAZIER. remake frazier and give him his true form which would be power // fastOriginally Posted by sparring101

Just played the game all weekend long with a friend. I change my viewpoint. The game isn't too slow. I still wish haymaker-type punches were a bit faster so that I could set them up outside of a parry, but this game is the bomb. Fighting a human opponent really brings out the truth in a game. Not only did our fights last longer in round 3, but they really did go at the many different paces of a boxing match. I've gotten used to Frazier's speed, and can set up the double left hook; but I still wish he were a tad faster.
What really showed how good this game is, was going back and playing the older games. We did that, and the past to games were so fast that we wondered how we could possibly strategize in them.
So, I retract my previous blind statements.
The game is so slow... against my friend I was winky and I stood in the pocket blocking everything he had like a 5% hit rate..., and he's 9-0-5ko's online or something. I tired him out then knocked him out in to KD. I didn't throw a punch until the 3 round
AnD FN 2004 was the only game close to fast enough IMO speed makes it harder to fight, but still fun because more skill is involved. Play games like Ninja Gaden black and you'll see that fnr 2-3 are way too slow.
I HAVE XBOX VERSION. I AM UPSET THAT THIS VERSION LACKS GREAT CRISP CLEAR GRAPHICS OF FNR2. THE CAREER MODE IS MADE MORE DIFFICULT TO BUILD GREAT LOOKING FIGHTERS AND ANLSO FIGHTERS THAT ATTRIBUTES THE DONT START TO DECLINE UNTIL AT LEAST 40. IF MAKE THE SCORE NEEDED IN THE MINI GAME WHILE TRAINING I SHOULD GET THE MAX ADDITION OF POINTS NO QUESTIONS ASKED. THIS GAME WAS HYPED UP AND WEBSITE REPORTED THAT IT LOOKED JUST LIKE FNR2 WHICH IT DOES NOT. THE FIGHTERS ARE GRAPHICALLY ARE NOT AS CRISP AND DEFINED AS FNR2 (XBOX). YES THE FACE ANIMATION AND PUNCH ANIMATIONS ARE NEW AND GREAT!! BUT THIS VERSION MAKE ME FEEL LIKE THEY DID AWAY WITH ALLOT WE NEEDED IN THE GAME TO GIVE US THESE 2 NEW ADDITIONS. I DONT KNOW IF IT WAS WORTH IT OR NOT. XBOX 360 IS IN MY FUTURE. THIS VERSION IS A LET DOWN.

The game may be a little slow but I think the action is closer to real life. You can see the guy wind up on the big shots, you can tell where the other fighter is looking to land and I think the fighting styles are very life like.
Frazier did have a faster left hook though...Ali is very good, I think they made Floyd Patterson a tad large though....he never looked that big to me at 6'0 175-190....he looks HUGE in the game and his handspeed isn't on point like it should be either.
The created fighters you can make are always better because it's your opinion as opposed to however the folks at EA figure out how to make boxer X more like the real boxer X....some may disagree like people on here...Frazier was faster...no he was slower, and so on and so forth
I agree with everything you've said thuse far. Actually, the speed of the game is almost just right if you don't pick the styles "slugger" or "hook master". Ali is good. Thankfully, they (unrealistically) set his body rating so low. That's his biggest weakness in the game. For me, the person I have the most trouble with is Jones Jr.Originally Posted by Lyle
Patterson is entirely off; looks and stats. Reading his profile on the easports website, I thought we'd get another quick heavy.
But one thing that really makes the speed difference liveable is that it applies to defense too. I remember in the previous games, as hecticly fast as they were, you could almost block on reaction. Here, with hand speed reduced for defense, you can't do that anymore. That allows you to do more setups on your offense. I'm loving the pace of the game now. Seriously, after playing Round 3, go back and play the other two. The difference is insane.
As far as being a realistic boxing game, the only things this has going for it is that it has a decent focus on defence and countering and isn't like a Rocky film, the punches aren't fluid, lets say I throw a 4 hook combination in real life the action of my left arm going back would drive my right arm forward, with no need to load up.
No matter what you just thre in fight night, each shot has to be loaded up, except jabs and crosses, which EA seem to have forgoten can actualy be very powerfull punches and not just point scorers.
The blocks are stupid few people do that cross armed thing to the body, no one does it as regular as you have to in fight night, you'd get your jaw snapped, you can't tuck in and cover your head and body in an equal amount, you can't move forward whilst throwing a left hand like you can in real boxing, you can't walk forward moving your head, you have to pause so you can't come forwards and get inside a jab, you have to get inside when your opponent walks forwards and you stay still.
In a real ring that would never work.
And the way you respond to getting a shot parryed is ridiculous, even if its a wild swing your wouldn't freeze like that for hours.
its like the boxers in fight night have never been parried before and stand there confused not knowing what to do.
Just bought the game, I love it, looking to fight fellow board members on-line (working on my skillz now)
It's best to be quiet and thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt!
