    ok, point taken, i'll use the diplomatic "i choose to not believe the issue...."

    the difference between starting exercising at 13 rather than 16 is a huge difference IMO, 3 years worth of experiance and the difference of physique. Most gyms will not allow kids in the weight room so most kids will be training with free weights that they have lying around at home or in the school gym hall. At this age i very much doubt they would want to go all out bodybuilding or powerlifting so i dont see them wanting to use weights as a big issue.
