Mr. Gandalf
Cassius Clay was {Age; 22} in 1964 when he started 'chirping'.
Vietnam was 'only' a minor conflict at the time. The Vietnam Conflict had absolutely
nothing to do with Cassius Clay's {original} decision in late-1964 {correct period of time}.
Cassius Clay {just flat out} did not want to be 'drafted' into the United States Army.
When the United States Selective Service came knocking >
He {Cassius} felt that he was 'special' at the time.
This is a 'direct' statement from Cassius Clay.
"They {United States Selective Service} want a Clay in the Army. Well, I'll give them one.
My brother Rudy will go for me. That should keep 'them' happy."
"I'm making too much money to go into the Army. They just want my money and my new
car {Pinkish-Red Cadillac}. And I'm supposed to go to Hollywood to make a Motion Picture.
They are trying to ruin my life. They don't want me to be famous."

Absolutely Right ........ ^^^^^^
United States Army Colonel > Everett Dasher Breed
"The last thing we want to do is put a Rifle in Cassius Clay's hands. He's really not that bright. There is no way
that kid should ever hold a 'Fucking' Rifle, let alone shoot one."

Based on that analogy,
Nobody had the right to hate Adolf Hitler, because we weren't born when he was playing
'tag-your-dead'.

"I never hated Cassius Clay. Or for that matter Adolf Hitler. I just think they both were a bit misguided and over-zealous, that's all."
