I think if Malignaggi can last past round 7 he should do well, it will be a close fight, I can see Malignaggi landing more punches but Cotto landing the harder punches so this will be a thing for judges. is the guy landing more punches get the round or the guy landing the more harder punches?

cotto has the perfect style for paulie. paulie likes to beat his oppenents off of their guards which is why cotto is made for him. he always keeps his hands high and walk straight in. paulie will have a ball with fightes like that. if u fight him with ure hands down then hes gunna have a hard time hitting u because he wouldnt know what do.

i just hope cotto manages to land at least one headshot while magalini is falling from the first body shot of the fight...

or else magalini may retire without ever getting hit in the head

Malinaggi is a lil punk, thinks he's PBF. He ain't. He is fast, but gots zero power and has fought nothin but one dimensional brawlers. Cotto gonna knock his butt out Wacko.

and prepare to loose some money

im guessing the odds wont be too great either way, so maybee you wont have to put too much up to get a decent return on cotto

yea i'm talkin like 10$ lol ...so i guess i'm already prepared to lose ....but history has shown us if anything that when the underdog is a very fast& slick, Very undefeated jabber/counter puncher ...odds arent always as bad as they seem ...from Liston-Clay to Morales & Zair Raheem its part of the ebb & flow of boxing

...anyway we'll see though but if Malinaggi is much of an underdog i wouldnt bet the horses on cotto if i were you

    This is the bottom line:
How are Paul's hands going to hold up? He has had surgery 3 times on his hands. He is saying that after this last surgery, which was before his last fight, that his hands feel great and did not bother him in his last fight.
Ok, do we believe him? I would like confirmation on how his hands were after his last fight. Because, if they bothered him again, he is taking this fight for the money. He knows his career is going to be short, and why risk losing in a small money fight if he breaks his hand again.
The bottom line: Find out how his hands held up in his last fight, and then go from there. He is plus 350 in the betting line. I live in Vegas, and bet the fights, and this is one that has tremendous value. There are only 2 fights a year where you can get real value on the dog. This year it was Calzahge, and last year it was Winky Wright when he fought Trinidad. This is the 2nd fight this year that has value.

Paulie can win this. He just has to turn him all night, Cotto's heavily on his front foot when he's coming forward so Paulie could turn him easily with his quick feet but he can't get lazy and stand in front. Beat him to the punch, turn him, repeat. He's gotta be smart

I'm gonna go ahead and pick him, of course my last upset pick turned out horribly horribly wrong

I think you are forgetting one thing. What if Cotto finally catches Paulie. And Paulie takes it well?

Possibly could happen but I can't count on that in making a pick cause I've never seen Paulie get hit by a guy with Cotto's power, its an unknown

And looks can clearly be deceiving but he looks a bit fragile, just his build. Either way a war of attrition is no way to go for him, he might need to take a clean punch or two to win a decision but he doesn't need to be taking too many shots

Classic boxer v puncher bout. Can Paulie stay away and land his own shots for a full 12 while taking the occasional power shot from Cotto? Does Cotto have the stamina to chase Paulie all night if he has to? I really like bouts like this that you can easily make an argument for either fighter. I think Paulie looks good the first half of the fight, but Cotto starts to wear him down the second half and gets the (T)KO late.
