But what top 168 pounders don't , or haven't already schooled Abraham? I've no idea how much of a draw he is in Germany, but what winnable fight for him could bring nearly as much coin? He's at least near the end of his career as well, and there is some basis for confidence from his side. Legend or not, Hopkins is still a 50 year old man coming off his first truly bad defeat and trying to make a new weight. I would love to know what "supplements" Hopkins has been taking.. FIFTY years old and a natural middleweight, it's just unreal.

    Perfect fight for Hopkins.

Abraham is ripe for the picking and has been on the slide for years.

As others have said though, 50 and coming off the worst beating of his career...

Hopkins would have to be completely shot to lose to Abraham.

Arthur Abraham: Bernhard Hopkins? Das wäre perfekt! | Sportmix - Berliner Kurier

If anybody can read German, this is Abrahams response. I don't have a clue what he said

Abrham says "Benard Hopkins? I am ready for him any time, any where. That would be a super fight."

    Additional comments:

Mnager Freddy Ness: „That is an interesting notion.“

Promoter Kalle Sauerland: „It is already being dicussed on the social networks. That would be a really major fight.“

Whether at super middle weight or at light heavy weight, it ought not be a problem.

Some great points made above. It really is a win/win for both. Even if Abraham loses and retires, its like Durelle getting beat by Moore. At least that's how it would be interpreted in Germany. Any objective fan already knows that Abe is a paperweight. I doubt the guy could beat anyone in the top 15 of any governing body not named Sturm or Stieglitz. I think Hop and him looks just like the Murat fight in slow motion and the lack of punch output could rival Briggs vs the White Poodle. Hop just does not pull the trigger although he might against this turtle. Like to see Hop go out on a high note after all that he has given.

How the old dog maintains is incredible. I'm sure many think he uses chemistry but of all the active fighters today I would suspect of least because of the history. You hear the phrase "gym rat" thrown around from time to time and I'm sure we all know a few but Hopkins truly is one. When he failed to win his first pro fight after jail time at 175. He took close to 2 years off and came back as a middle. 168 was a fledgeling division at the time. In order to maintain 160 he had to do hard time in the gym and he did. Ge just stayed in training and that's why he was so close to 160 even the night of the fight for the majority of his middleweight career. He's like Moore or Kid Azteca. These freaks come around every half century and befuddle the world with their longevity and pugilistic prowess.

If there is one fight I have been clamoring for this past decade it is Hopkins against Abraham. Finally it is being talked about!

Hopkins does actually need a 168 belt to literally Cement himself as a next level hero, champion, one of a kind, outstanding hero!!!! People calling him boring can just be quite. HIs ringcraft, ring intelligence, his defence, his countering abiltiies. He can box going forward and backwards, he's literally is just one of a kind.

https://youtu.be/EPteXJeKd64 I might have posted this before, but literally is such an epic promo. He's such an inaspirational fighter. I even bought a b hop t shirt the other week lol.
