People would still pay for it. As ridiculous as it sounds. Regardless of belts, but belts would make it more interesting. What would hype it even more, is if Gatti destroys Baldomir in less than 3 rds. People always want to see a beatdown, and if Gatti does what i stated, his fans will be chanting Floyd's name. Believing that he can summon some magic, one more time. I love watching Gatti fight, and I'm a fan, but this is one fight I hope he doesn't take.

Didnt any of you see the first Gatti-Mayweather fight? Gatti was 30 seconds behind everything Mayweather did. It was such a mismatch, it made Winky-Trinidad look like a close fight.

I understand your logic, but when a fight is so lopsided, even if Gatti destroys the "Dangerous" Baldomir, I dont see the public screaming for Gatti-PBF 2.

What makes the Gatti-Baldomir winner any more deserving of a PBF fight than Margarito? First off, PBF will never fight Baldomir. Telemundo would have trouble getting people to watch that. Nobody wants to see Gatti get beat up again, either. Which leaves Judah, once he loses to PBF, as the sensible option for the Gatti-Baldomir winner.

So you're saying Judah loses his undisputed crown, then loses his next fight and is still deserving of a title shot!?!?! That's ridiculous. What would be ideal is for Margarito to fight the winner, then Margarito Floyd for the undisputed title after Floyd faces Oscar. Then Floyd can actually call himself a champ again and start defending against people like Hatton. If Floyd can come through all of that, then people will stop questioning him.

Dude, youre tripping. Those belts dont mean anything anymore. This guy is so far ahead of ALL his competition, and thats the ONLY thing that matters. He destroyed Gatti, and Baldomir is seen as a journeyman who caught Zab on an off night. Unfortunaely for Margarito, he isnt a PPV worthy fight, so PBF aint gonna step that way. But PBF dont need to fight any of those 3 to "prove" himself. He's been doing that for years.

Thats the point, Floyd hasnt been doing that for years (waits to get flamed by the Floyd fans). He has taken three years off, he no longer fights elite opposition. I'm not saying Baldomir is elite competition but those belts would at least legitimise him saying hes been a champ at however many weights.

PBF needs to fight Margarito and Hatton to prove people like me wrong.

Don't get me wrong, I love Floyd's skills and rank him 2 P4P behind Winky, just ahead of Pac, but hes gotta fight elite fighters again (Slightly regretting naming the thread Gatti Mayweather 2 now weve moved to him taking elite fights oops :P ) if for nothing else than so we can see him in enjoyable fights again

gatti mayweather wont and shouldnt happen again. but i i would have loved gatti to do what he does best in the first fight. as if he was ever gonna outbox or beat mayweater to the punch. he should have gone after him, he still would have took a lot of punishment, but we all know he can take a bit, and at least he may have had some success himself (cos lord knows i would love to see mayweather put on his arse). thats the main reason cant wait for a mayweather fight with hatton, because ricky would know exactly what he has to do, which is outwork him and use EDUCATED pressure.

The public wouldn't scream for the fight, and I personally wouldn't want to see it, but it would still sell. Deserving or not.

CC excellent points. He has great talent but we have to go too far back to see his last great challenge and to be P4P number, that is not right! How do we know how good he is if he is not going to fight the Margarito's Hatton's etc. All throughout history, you see guy's who are P4P number 1s fighting high risk fighters, to prove they are the best.

Margarito is number 2 in 90% WW lists and apart from Mayweather would crush anyone else so i'd say I want to see that fight first!

I think at this point in his career he needs to start fighting the top 10 of whatever weight division he is in. If he keeps going after the weakest champion of each weight class then I feel he starts sliding down the p4p scale. He needs to be in there with people that will challenge him not with fighters that showcase him.
