I agree, on acheivement at the weight he's definitely number 1.

    you simply can't

jones was the best. i don't care if jones had 1 fight at supermiddle he still was in middle weight making him the best ever. you see great and best are two different things jones never Archived much compared to other great fighters but he would have beaten them all. its that simple.

you see robinson was greatest but jones would have beaten him at middle or super middleweight.

pound for pound he would have beaten all comers.

    baby

Just because someone looks impressive in some fights doesn't necasarily mean he would look just as impressive against a different fighter who has different attributes. Many people looked at footage of Lacy and thought he would destroy Calzaghe, if they hadn't fought these people would still have the same opinion now. Many people thought Shane Mosely was untouchable until he fought Vernon Forrest.

IMO RJJ would definitely be favourite against Joe, but it wouldn't be a walkover. With Joe's hand speed and workrate he may well have been the the guy to pose most problem's to him, it's a shame we'll never know the definite answer.

You say time will tell?? In what way, because there is no one in the division that would put him any higher than what he is right now, and it is debatable if he will fight at 168 again.

Before anyone says Kessler, this guy is am untested fighter, so if Joe does a job on him i cant really seeing it doing anything to his legacy unless Kessler comes back bigger and better.

Im quite certain that Joe will be fighting at 175 in July.

Both RJJ and James Toney rank above Joe Calzaghe as some of the best super middleweights of all time. They constantly fought the best and usually won, Joe is in the top 5 but i wouldn't say HE IS the best

RJJ would have beat the shit out of Collins, it would have been gross, seriously.

Joe definetly had the skills to pull a Schmelling-Louis 1 or Robinson-Lamotta 1
No Joe would lose badly against Roy who was extremely good against southpaws until his reflexes slowed down... He beats Joe 9/10 times prime for prime

because if he loses against lets say Markus Beyer and Kessler, everyone would say that he was just a good fighter rather than a great one. Similar to Chris Eubank, if he beat Collins and retired he would of beyond doubt of been the greatest SM of all time.
As i said Skel, time will tell.
