Come on, Lyle, this site is all about people with different opinions. If we all agreed on everything, someone would post a thread and the response would be 'Yeah'. Everyone would have a million coolclicks and it would be boring.

I think you are an OK guy, but you sometimes post your responses as if they are written in tablets of stone and there is no argument with you.

I totally, absolutely, utterly disagree with you about the Darkness. Nothong you say will rid me of my primal hatred for this pub band. Every time I hear them, I get an upset stomach. If I saw Justin Hawkins walking down the road, I think I would have to kill him. Not that I would ever go to Lowestoft where they are from (it's our version of Boise, Idaho by the way)

While I would like them to cover 'Bohemian Rhapsody', they have a pretty original sound and Justin is what Rock'n'Roll is built off of flamboyant, wild, and crazy frontmen.

You can hate all you want, The Darkness rock, and there's nothing you can do about it!

I always thought was about originality and progression...

The Darkness are original in the fact that we have thousands of bands out there now pretending to be 'The Kinks' and any other four letter word with 'The at the start' with an S at the end, they are the only band pretending to be Heavens gate/Queen that I know of.

I wouldn't mind but the 'cover' is practicly identical to the original...

OK, "cover" songs are supposed to sound alike, else it's a totally different song and thus not as good and therefore not worth covering (unless it's in a different genre altogether).

I think it's a perfectly acceptable cover version.

Come on... your supposed to put your own slant and style into the song... shame the Darkness have none... Even Maralyn Manson's crappy covers are more original, and all he does is play the song in power chords and talk the lyrics on mono tone/occasionally scream...

There are some covers that are very similar and Justin's just happens to be one, that's JUSTIN (British Whale) not The Darkness altogether....just an FYI.

People have covered Elvis' 'I can't help Falling in love with you' and it's absolutely gaddamn awful. If Justin did it as well as The Sparks doesn't it say something about his talent? I mean come on, you just complain about EVERYTHING....listen to The Darkness cover of the Radiohead song, Street Spirit...that's a good cover
