Total domination by Yafai in the 4th round. Sunny is trying but one way traffic.

Yafai nearly stops Sunny in the 5th. It will not last too long before it is stopped.

It is stopped in the 6th! One way traffic and the ref stopped it in Yafai favour. Not even close.

Sunny needs to retire. He looks like he did not want to be there.

Sunny did anouce his retirement after the fight and said he did injure his ankle in camp. He is only 28 but done a lot of rounds.

Sunny does manage fighters and is too busy for a boxers life.

I remember once they asked an American trainer, 'who is the bravest boxer you can think of?' I think they were expecting him to name a guy that went into war after war like Arturo Gatti or Mickey Ward. He said 'Chris Byrd'. Why? Because he got no power to keep MoFos off, all he has is his skills but he keeps getting in there doing it.

I mean, all boxers are brave but, if you think about it, going up against a tank with a peashooter is the bravest thing of all

And that's what I think of when I think of Sunny Edwards.

After getting bam’d, who pretty much took his soul, I don’t believe he had the heart beaten out of him by Yafai, he was beaten mentally before the fight, he clearly didn’t want to be in there. And when you no longer have that fire burning inside of you boxing is the last sport in the world you need to be in.

Good performance by Yafai, to think this was seen as a 50/50 fight as well. they need to keep him away from bam. Let bam do his thing, you work on your game and get some experience at top level if he carries on winning ? He'll eventually catch up to bam

That was a breakout performance from Yafai. Edwards still looked good, only as far back as June against Curiel. I think the Bam fight took a toll but it is doing Yafai a disservice to say Edwards was not still a quality operator. If the talk is true and Sunny had already told his team that this was his last fight win, lose, or draw then his heart was not in the game any longer and being inside that ring will make you realize real quick if you’ve still got it. Edwards had a good career with a few nice wins. I’ve heard him on comms before and thought he did well. Hopefully he can stay in the sport in some capacity. I think he manages a few fighters as well.

As for Yafai, I think he fits in well against the other top flyweights. The interim title he picked up puts him in line for a shot at Teraji. Flyweight is a bit of a sleeper division, where fights between any of the champs would be exciting. Although I want Yafai to get his shot, I’d prefer he take another fight or two, while some much needed unifications take place.
