I will go out on a limb and predict a 10th round stoppage for JMM. I just cannot see Diaz having the arsenal to keep Marquez from doing what he wants to do. He will stay competitive for most of it, but Marquez hits harder, is accurate as hell and will wear him down and take it out of him.
    I agree 100%

Don't mind me folks. I am just gloating for hitting a prediction accurately finally. It has been ages

How wrong could you be, judging JMM based on a fight vs. Casa.
Sorry but Diaz ain't no Casa even a past his prime Casa.
Casa to this day has skills and he's proven it vs. Kats & JMM sure he hasn't looked great but he's won and he's put up good fights.

As for the other comments, I have to say JMM will once again prove why he's one of the greatest of our times. He's not just some title holder he is THEE lineal champ you'll see.
What I'm curious to see are the excuses that will be said once he beat Diaz.

Diaz does have a good jab but it's not a stunning jab it's just a jab to keep the glove in your face, he does score with it but it's a bit slow and I think JMM will be able to slip it and counter it.

JMMs is gonna need to be smart and make sure he doesn't let Diaz win rounds on activity/output. If JMM can be smart which he is and pace himself correctly I think he's gonna bust up Diaz.
Well Dean it looks like we both posted our picks at the same time.

Here is my ORIGINAL scorecard. I had Juarez by a roud the rounds were REALLY close IMO because while John was busier I think Juarez landed the harder cleaner shots.

    1- C
    2- R
    3- C
    4- R
    5- C
    6- C
    7- C
    8- R
    9- R
    10- R
    11- R
    12- R

    115-113 for Rocky.

Here is my updated scorecard. I changed rd. 2 for Chris which gives him a draw, I think Chris scored well in the 2nd and I think he won that round after seeing the fight again just now.

    1- C
    2- C
    3- C
    4- R
    5- C
    6- C
    7- C
    8- R
    9- R
    10- R
    11- R
    12- R

    114-114 Draw

You guys gotta understand why this isn't a robbery. The swing of 1 round, just 1 round changes things to make it 7-5 in rounds which in turn makes it a 2 round difference making it wider then the actual fight was.

I think the fight was up for grabs at the time of the scoring, John clearly did good early in the fight and in the early rounds all Juarez needed by the 12th round was one of the early rounds to win.

I had John winning 7 -5 overall. Rocky made a great showing late though. A draw due to one swing round does not disappoint. Both of them fought their guts out and we might see a rematch.

Was it a robbery? No, it probably wasn't a robbery. But I, like the majority of people who I've seen comment on the decision, felt that John should've won. I thought it should've been 116-112/115-113 (at worst) for John. However, being that the fight was in Juarez' hometown, I'm not surprised the close rounds went his way. He was definitely landing the harder shots, but I think (in most cases) John's workrate and accuracy trumped that.

I wonder how much John being sick before the fight had to do with him fading down the stretch? I'm definitely interested in seeing him fight again, and if Juarez brings it like he did last night, I wouldn't mind seeing him fight again as well (preferably somewhere other than Huston though). I'd like to see a rematch, but I think John will be trying to move on to bigger fights.

I had John winning by a round on my card, too. Ledderman was way off, as usual. I fully expected the judges to give it outright to Juarez. That would have been a robbery, but it would have also been poetic justice.

I hope people will start giving a little credit to Juarez now. He gets so much hate on this board, but he's a very good fighter who can be entertaining in a well made match. He had John hurt a few time, not just the 11th. A few of those left hooks to the body were brutal and you could see that John was bothered.

I was rooting for Rocky, but honestly think Chris did enough to win. I feel bad for Rocky, though. He just keeps plugging away, no matter what.

JMM is a true great. I was pretty happy with Diaz performance, no shame to not be JMM and he was right there with him till the end.

I refuse to say something nice about Rocky Juarez

And Mick I disagree about the Diaz is not on a past his prime Casa's level, I would put a large amount of money on the fact that Diaz from Saturday beats the Casa of the JMM fight. Casa if anything just presented some difficulties for JMM style wise while JMM is a pressure fighter killer. Casa just wouldn't have enough to keept Juan off unlike JMM, I mean just looking at the Katsidis fight Juan handled him with ease compared to Casa KO or no KO.

Anyway Diaz will never be a great but he's still one of the best lightweights clearly. I just wonder how look he even keeps at it considering he doesn't need to.

Why feel bad for him as long as he fights in Houston he's never going to lose!!!!

Everyone was surprised that I called what was going to happen, it's not that I am psychic or anything, I just know what is going on when Rocky Juarez fights in Houston. Chris John landed over 100 more punches than Rocky and he controled the majority of the fight, he had the better defense and he did enough to win outright. Sure John looked bad in the last few rounds but he won enough of the early rounds to coast to a victory.

I honestly can't wait til the day when Rocky Juarez gets KTFO....I'm sure he's a nice guy and all but I want him out cold. A fight vs Edwin Valero might do the trick.

Hometown decisions do tend to turn fans against a fighter.

I think John took it pretty well, considering.

Rocky acting like he really did deserve the W did more to piss me off......I really hate him with a passion! Juarez has joined the likes of Sergio Mora, Peter Manfredo, John Ruiz, and Nicolay Valuev in my mind

In all fairness, Lyle... when have you ever seen a fighter say: "Well, I don't think I did enough to win the fight?" I think John got robbed as much as you did... but poor Rocky's getting some undeserved wrath, don't you think? It's the judges that should be beaten at the town square.

There are plenty of times where fighters don't think they won and say it.....even a shmuck like Antonio Margarito has done that!

The Judges are bad but I hate Rocky Juarez....I don't care about the judges
