Yeah, Duran was intense. His black eyes always had a charles Manson look to them, he was pure evil in that ring. And no Lyle, that big doofus doesn't scare anyone. He does look goofy, damn goofy. Another great one, that I remembered is Pryor vs Arguello. Pryor had finally gotten the chance he desperately wanted, and when he stood in the middle of the ring and pointed right at Arguello, you could tell Alexis was at least dumfounded if not intimidated.

Drago versus Rocky IV, or maybe Tatum versus Simpson

This is gonna sound daft, but Frank Bruno actually had one of the best stares in heavyweight history in my opinion, he actually made Tyson break a stare a couple of times if memory serves... The problem with Frank was that the stare was the thing he did best.

Hearns had a great look, especially before the Hagler fight. Tyson McNeeley was funny - McNeeley had his eyes shut and was just swaying from side to side, Tyson's mad eyes followed him like he was getting hypnotised by a swinging watch.

I'll never forget Tszyu/Judah - Kostya usually doesn't get into the whole stare, he sort of looks around, smiles politely at the refs instructions then touches them up - that night he never took his eyes off Judah, and had a look of total superiority and confidence bordering on smugness. I remember feeling not very confident in the lead up to that one, but much better when I saw how confident Tszyu looked...

Larry Holmes was great. Trinidad too. Hagler.

Yeah, that was the second fight - can't remember the stare from that match. But on the first one Bruno stared his ass DOWN

Gotta go with Liston. Watch the staredown with Ali in their first fight. Liston looks like he wants to kill someone.

if anyone watched the bruno documentary that came on tv quite a while ago, bruno never crossed himself 12 times it was more like 47 times.

    Hagler-Hearns. Hands down.

My favorite staredown of all time:

Whoiever said it, Hopkins did inject some fear into Tito with that stare plus the face he had a few inches on him.

My favorite's still Shamrock-Frye from the K-1 championships.
