so on to my next question was fear of communism rational or irrational. In my opinion fear of communism was completely rational because of Lenin's influence on the Marxists movement. Lenin believed in "the end justifies the means". Atrocities were committed so that the communist paradise could be accomplished. Lenin, Stalin and Mao had undue influence on modern communist thought hence the fear of communism was real. If the other communist thinkers of the day had as much influence, the ones who infused moralistic thought to communism maybe the fear would not be there. But in the end, Lenin and Mao won the day hence the fear was perfectly legitimate
