Unofficial word is spreading that Oscar De La Hoya is penciled in to face Floyd Mayweather Jr. on September 16. WBO welterweight champion Antonio Margarito caught wind of this and apparently confronted Mayweather, saying "What about me?" and the fighters had to be separated.

Agreed on both points,CC although I don't see Oscar beating Floyd. Do you think that Margarito part was true?

    Yo The Game, cc.

I don't know that to think right now, BUT I know what I saw.... or think I do!?!!! haha

Oscar earned his shot at another superfight. Maybe he just needed the 20 month rest.

I thought Oscar was going to use only his GOLDEN NAME to make one more big fight,
but obviously you can see that this RICH BIATCH still has the discipline and focus to still pull out not only elite performances, but an excellent one also.

I have to sleep before I go on this an Oscar bandwagon high, but I know what I saw, Power, Composure, Veteran Skill, and Speed! WoW!

i wish margarito would have bitch slapped pbf but eighther way i dont think tony is getting his shot anytime soon. odlh and pbf will be meeting in the ring imo. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ and people want this fight. i think odlh has a legit shot at beating pbf. i dont think pbf can ko odlh but i do think he can win a ud. but odlh is big, strong and has the tools to beat up on pbf .but who the fuck knows. nobody seemed to believe odlh would stand in front of mayorga let alone ko his ass.(me included)

Trust me this fight is happening. Way too much money is on the line. Enough for PBF to test his chin, and enough for ODLH to test his skills. BTW, Mayweather Sr. said that if the fights does happen he will train ODLH. He said it on Boxingtalk.

SR. knows JR. inside and out, he will give oscar the perfect battle plan and im sure some good def and counter def training. Odlh will KO pbf in 7-10 rounds.

Also, yes I COMPLETELY agree, we have yet to see floyd test his chin, besides.... zab hit one good one and PBF seemed hurt and shocked at what had happeend, he covered for about 30 seconds before he recovered. I think 3-4 Good right cross with oscars super left hook will stun and most likely after about 30 KO pbf.

    Anyone Agree?

Mayweather better pray it's at 147....and to be honest we know he's not even a true 147..yet....his best chance is for ODLH to be unmotivated...well there goes that thought...I say ODLH by KO inside of 6...remember where you heard this.....
It feels good to be back home.

This is the interview would be like

Jim Lampley: Alright we are here with the man that could potentially the next opponent for Oscar Delahoya Floyd it's nice to have you with us tonight.

Floyd Mayweather: (holds his smile for 5 seconds as Lampley talks)

Jim Lampley: Floyd... how did Oscar look tonight and how do you think a fight with you two would go? Is Oscar an opponent that interests you.

Floyd Mayweather: yes its a fight that would interest me.. but after tonight, I'm even more sure that I could beat De La Hoya.

Jim Lampley: *nervous smile* really... what would make you say that?

Floyd Mayweather: well, after tonight, it would be even easier work for me. Because, he really didn't fight anybody, he fought a guy that was off for a year that had a title handed to him.. that wasn't even really a title.

Jim Lampley: *sweating bullets* but Floyd.. the risk of Ricardo Mayorga.. he picked him for the risk...

Floyd Mayweather: but Delahoya didn't want to fight Roman, or Vargas or anyone else that are more of a risk, he picked a guy that had the belt handed to him by Don King, and was off for a year and never defended it. Delahoya did what he was supposed to do tonight. If Mayorga had ben in front of me it wouldn't have taken me this long to beat him.

Jim Lampley: but you have to credit De La Hoya for his performance he stopped a guy that had only been truly stopped once.

Floyd Mayweather: Mayorga is a wide guy he..he..he has a style that somebody like Oscar De la Hoya you HOPE could at least look decent against, this belt was handed to him the same way the belt was handed to Gatti when he fought Branco.. the problem is Gatti looks bad against other C+ Fighters. Oscar is an B- fighter and he is made to look spectacular against a C- minus fighter like Mayorga.

Jim Lampley *stuttering* but the accuracy.. of Oscar's punches..

Floyd Mayweather: Mayorga has no defense Jim. He has no defense, and Oscar was still missing shots and Mayorga's shots are so wide that he can't his Oscar in between, if Oscar threw that same kind of shots against me I would catch him in between every miss, and the only time mayorga threw a straight shot was that uppercut and you saw what it did to oscar, I would hand that often and frequent, he also got to De La Hoya's body relatively easy. There's a lot that De la Hoya didn't do, and he would have been easy work for me had I been in there with him.

Jim Lampley *motioning to the camera man to cut the broadcast*

Floyd Mayweather: What's wrong? Am I effecting your hyping a fight, It's an easy win for me, Pretty Boy Floyd aint nothin but the truth and as soon as my hand heals I'll be sure to prove it

    *broadcast cuts off*

When he gets cough with a power shot from Oscar he wont be thinking that anymore guarranteed. SO he would think thatMayorga was to ODH what Gatti was to him. The guy that Oscar Ko in 5 and it took him how long 7 Complete rounds, and that was what 4 or 5 years later when Gatti was older slower and declinning.I see and how is PBF better then Oscar wasor is. Oscar by TKO11th.

CC for an entertaining (and not too farfetched) interview.
