    I think there is going to be a civil suit to follow, if the person is really as hurt as the article states then he can take nas to the cleaners for ruining the quality of the rest of his life and for the pain and suffering the accident has caused him.

    well boy let me tell ya, i work at parkhurst, over the years we have held the krays, bronson and some of the countrys worst crimanals not to mention some of the most dangerous criminals.

    now life sentencing comes in 3 cats

    mandatory

    discresionary

    and automatic

    Mandatory Life Sentence

    This is the only sentence available to the courts for persons over the age of 21 found guilty of murder.

    Discretionary Life Sentence

    This sentence may be imposed for those over the age of 21 as the maximum penalty for a serious offence, e.g. manslaughter, attempted murder, rape, armed robbery or arson. It is imposed instead of a determinate sentence where the sentencing court thinks that the offender's risk of committing another serious offence will continue for an indeterminate period.

    Automatic Life Sentence

    The courts must pass this sentence on anyone who was 18 or over on or after 1 October 1997 and was convicted of a second serious violent or sexual offence. This sentence is no longer imposable. Transitional arrangements provide for existing automatic life sentences and related life licence arrangements to remain in force.

    but now there is a new sentence known as a IPP which is were u must serve a minimum sentence with no definate date of release

    The new indeterminate sentence of Imprisonment (or Detention) for Public Protection will apply to offenders who are convicted of a serious offence and who are considered by the court to pose a "significant risk to memebers of the public, of serious harm."

    so if naz countinually sped and crashed cars like 5 or 6 times the court would have no choice but to hold him for an indefinate amount of time until we can be sure he would pose no risk to the public.

    You do knwo that by the time he(Hammed) fought Barrera he wasn't doing sparring sessions or roadwork... Ohterwise he would have maintained interest in boxing he would have destroyed Barrera.

    Maybe he'll become a "Princess" in Prison.
    Seriously though, I don't wish ass rape on anyone, cept maybe this fat guy that called me a stupid fuk for steppin on my brakes the other day, but that is another story...
    I think for this little stunt, once Naz gets out, his license should be revoked for at least 10 years, probably life.

    Beds I think your reading m y post completely wrong. Your using examples of people that have ALREADY BEEN IN TROUBLE WITH THE LAW AND GOING FOR a 2nd or 3rd felony. The way you said it was that if you go into a store and steal a playstation 2 and you never been in trouble ever. That you can go to jail for life for stealing a playstation 2 even though you never been in trouble or never been convicted of anything. We all know about the 3 strikes law, but the way you said it was like hey if you steal a dog you can go to jail for life which is misleading to people reading this.

    Also this will help. Heres the guidelines that courts HAVE to follow.

    Maximum sentences for crimes committed July 1, 1984, and after.

    (1) Felony. Unless a different maximum sentence for a classified felony is specifically established by a statute of this state, no person convicted of a classified felony shall be punished by confinement or fine exceeding the following:

    (a) For a class A felony, by confinement in a state correctional institution for a term of life imprisonment, or by a fine in an amount fixed by the court of fifty thousand dollars, or by both such confinement and fine;

    (b) For a class B felony, by confinement in a state correctional institution for a term of ten years, or by a fine in an amount fixed by the court of twenty thousand dollars, or by both such confinement and fine;

    (c) For a class C felony, by confinement in a state correctional institution for five years, or by a fine in an amount fixed by the court of ten thousand dollars, or by both such confinement and fine.

    (2) Gross misdemeanor. Every person convicted of a gross misdemeanor defined in Title 9A RCW shall be punished by imprisonment in the county jail for a maximum term fixed by the court of not more than one year, or by a fine in an amount fixed by the court of not more than five thousand dollars, or by both such imprisonment and fine.

    (3) Misdemeanor. Every person convicted of a misdemeanor defined in Title 9A RCW shall be punished by imprisonment in the county jail for a maximum term fixed by the court of not more than ninety days, or by a fine in an amount fixed by the court of not more than one thousand dollars, or by both such imprisonment and fine.

    (4) This section applies to only those crimes committed on or after July 1, 1984.

    So to contradict your original statement. You CAN go to jail for life for a class A felony. But what you said was that ANY crime you can go to jail for life. Which is wrong. Because class b, and c felonies you CANT go to jail for life. And if I remember correctly wreckless driving ( pretty much the same thing that prince got convicted for) was a class B felony which would be a MAXIMUM of 10 years in prison.
