I think in a fight that close the champion deserves a chance to win back his title - a bigger Ricky Hatton fan you will do well to find (well maybe not on hereOriginally Posted by azumir
) but if the shoe was on the other foot we would all be screaming for a rematch

Also, I dont see matches with battle worn Gatti more important than beating Collazo! If I was Collazo,I would run my mouth and haunt Hatton until I got the rematch and also,Collazo gave him a chance,Hatton should return the favour. Very dissappointing.
give hatton a break the guy has a style that can beat him, collazo looked ok but he aint gonna do anything in the diviosn either
Collazo doesn't deserve a rematch. Does every fighter who fights a close match deserve a rematch? He lost, maybe not by much but he obviously lost.
Hatton looked one dimensional, and a Collazo couldn't take advantage of that. Hell, he had him badly hurt and still couldn't capitalize on it.
The words of a worried fanYou know who would win the rematch
And Collazo won that fight
And he didn't "obviously lose"

I'd like to see the rematch too, but don't hit out with the ducking crap. Hatton wants the big fights. Collazo is not a big fight. Mayweather, Margarito, Castillo, Gatti. Those are the big fights and Hatton doesn't plan to be around long to entertain your skepticism, just because, shock horror, he didn't blow away one of his opponents. What's that, maybe 1 fight out of 41 that he didn't win convincingly? Oh wow, I guess we should remove him from the P4P list and rag on him until he knocks Collazo out.Originally Posted by BABABOOEY

Anywho...Hatton is still a great fighter & all that...but just like so many other fights over the last 2 years...I just think that it was the incorrect decision.
What's done is done...but a draw woulda been better...

It's nothing to do with fear. If he beat Collazo convincingly, he still wouldn't give him a rematch. It's to do with what's good for business. Hatton only plans to be around for 3 years at most. He doesn't have time to get back in the ring with a man that no one would give him credit for beating anyway, as he was expected to blow him away first time around.Originally Posted by MRMANICK
You're damned if you do and damned if you don't. The term "ducking" is tossed around with abandon on these forums and really it's just nonsense. If I had the choice of fighting a marquee name or fighting Collazo to appease the haters, I'd choose the marquee name every time.
Personally, I think it was stupid of Ricky to say immediately after the fight that he would give a rematch. Emotions are running wild and, quite frankly, I think the criticism stung Hatton initially and he genuinely wanted to shut the naysayers up. After having had time to reflect, I completely understand why he wouldn't want to waste his time with a fight that would only interest the die hards.Originally Posted by wacko3205
He did win the fight. Scored round for round, I can't see past Hatton, despite him not looking like a winner when he was hurt in the last round.
So it was okay to waste our time the first timeOriginally Posted by Clydey_2_Times
He said what he said and he can't take it back. If pbf did this same exact thing you would probably have a lot to say about it.You talk about the big fights but who wants to see him in the big fights besides die-hard fans if he has so much trouble in the small fights. If I saw him for the first time i wouldn't pay $50 to see him again. A lot of people thought he lost and as a man he should wanna prove them wrong like floyd did but i guess he not as much man as floyd is. Hatton all heart. Yeah right.Go back to 140 and beat on smaller men.
Step up so I can put you down
did you put the "I'm gay" comment on there?! what did I say that was so off or not adult? all i thought I was saying was that if Hatton doesn't give Collazo a rematch he doesn't deserve to have the title...and I would then question his manhood....pls reply.....I want to know..it is never my intention to post any comment not to be taken seriously.....I LOVE boxing...I Coached amateurs this past year and recently got back in the fight game myself.....Originally Posted by Saddo

It's called Karma. where was Jose Antonio Rivera's rematch with Collazo after their RAZOR close match? Nada. Collazo must have been scared.
I love the word "razor." Say it out loud really slow Raazzooooor. It's right up there with "smite"
Hatton smote Collazo down. Is that the past tense of smite? Sounds good.
