Defintely aint unbeatable. but not sure how "sh1t" guys he has struggled against??

Looked crap a couple of times, but who doesn't and we all know he was an emotional wreck for about 3 years whilts his fortune was being stolen in his divorce - not too mention fighting with a broken hand on a number of occasions

Aint unbeatable, but he's better than this thread suggests imo

    Snakey WTF??

The guy is unbeaton, he was predicted by 90/95% of people he was getting KO'D within 5 rounds against Lacy but he actully put on the best clinic for years, i think your getting a bit excited about Mundine and now think he is the new RJJ, am i right?? What because he beat that Green fella who looked shit to put it nicely, the guy is an unbeaten World Champ the longest reinging Champ in World Boxing, so the hype is justified, and if he ever steps in with Mundine, you will see how good he really is.

But he aint unbeatable but tell me who beats him right now?? no one in the 168 division, if Winky moves up that would be hell IMO for the WInkster, and at 175 i feel he beats Tarver, so he goes into all those fights as a favourtie for me, so the hype is justified.

But in another thread you say Mundine would beat Kessler So does that mean you think Mundine would beat Calzaghe to?

I always thought lacy was overhyped and one dimensional. Now apparently kessler aint S*** compared to calzaghe, mundine aint S*** compared to calzaghe, beyer aint S*** compared to calzaghe, green aint S*** compared calzaghe and he is totally unbeatable? What a load of crap, styles make fights people and the only one of them with a style resembling lacy is danny green and he would get beaten by calzaghe. But kessler...the guy is F****** huge and he can hit....but he can box unlike lacy, it wouldnt be a walk in the park for joe. Mundine is very very quick, great evasive skills....not heaps powerful but he got some power..he knocked out thornberry which is something joe didnt. Beyer.....he aint great but when the odds are stacked against him he seems to fight well. He probably wouldnt beat joe but dont under estimate him. Like i said, all the respect in the world for joe and i think he is the man in the division but for god sake....he is not unbeatable, lacy was the first champ he had fought in something like 11 years and mostly the rest were nobodies. All the hype is just really starting to get to me and i think some people need reality checks.
No one is suggesting that Calaghe is unbeatable. The fact is he is one of the best out there and produces when it matters. You can cleat on about his performances against the likes of Salem, but when he's up for it he performs.

No one is unbeatable, but in the SMW division he comes pretty close, as there's really no one to challenge him.

Styles make fights and i dont know if mundine can beat calzaghe but i think kessler can coz he is big...strong and can box and that should give calzaghe loads of trouble. Based on mundines first performance against kessler and now his performance against green....yes i think he can beat kessler. Like it or not, mundine is good and when he rises to the occasion...he is very good.

    Good point!

Problems outside the ring, injurys etc are normally an excuse for fighters LOSING! And some of them "shit" guys he's beat have been seriously franking the form of late

Maybe Calzaghe really is pretty much unbeatable when it all goes right

Snakey...it's like this...to my knowledge...you never really followed Calzaghe closely...atleast not closely enough to pass good judgement.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion...so here's mine...& this is honesty...not just a slap for a slap.

I kind of felt the same way about Kostya that you do about Calzaghe. I personally don't think that Kostya is all that...not like everyone else does or did.

On the flip side...Calzaghe's a bit more worthy of having his balls tugged because he's undefeated & has defended his title for many years. Something that Kostya wasn't to sucessful at.

People on this site are going to be up in the air over the man because he is the people's champ of the region...just like I am sure that Kostya was & I am sure if you got on some Aussie site...that'd be all you would hear...the sound of Kostya's balls gently squeeking as they were squeezed...so let it go.

Now...Calzaghe's accomplishments...if you were to have followed his career...far surpass just beating Lacy. The total destruction of Lacy get's Calzaghe high praise because whether or not anyone wants to admit it...he was going to rule the division. Lacy is not one dimensional...he just got his a** kicked by a superior fighter. Lacy was not the only fighter that Calzaghe has fought & to say that the rest were nobodies shows that you know very little about the division that you are criticizing...which really surprises me.

As far as opponents go...I don't see anyone at 168 that can give him competition...not Kess, Beyer, Mundine, & all the rest.

Speaking of your countryman...Mundine & his chances against Calzaghe...oh my. Yes Mundine is quick but to say that he has great evasive skills is a stretch. Calzaghe might not have knocked out Thornberry...but Joe's never been beaten...Mundine's been whacked all around the ring & he also got his a** laid out by Sven Ottke. Sven Ottke...I mean...need I fwockin laugh?

Let's just wait & see how Joe does at 175lbs...there's where the competition lies.

Glen Johnson is the next opponent...maybe he will have the answers to the new questions that are now arising for Calzaghe.
Mate... i dont need to follow someones career closely to comment on the bullshit being thrown around this forum. He aint unbeatable! How many times has calzaghe struggled to win against S*** guys? Now he beats lacy hes unbeatable. How isnt lacy one dimensional? He looks for his power shot and trys to overwhelm his opponent with his power, he has no boxing skill. Styles make fights mate. Mundine got knocked out by ottke....have you seen the fight? Did you notice it was mundines 11th fight, did you notice he was beating ottke at the time of the ko and did you notice mundine was exhausted and that also he never even sparred for the fight? Answer this for me wacko, who hits harder...ottke or green and kessler? Coz hes fought kessler and green and hasnt been down. If kessler and calzaghe fight i think id tip joe....but not by much. He aint unbeatable and thats all im saying.
I'm not saying that he's unbeatable either...but don't expect to say things like "For god sake can everyone stop hugging his F****** nuts!" & not be countered.

    I mean...come on snakey...

i dont expect too many shocks not when it comes to the result, only perhaps the means of getting there...

johnson is very solid and has beaten some very good fighters, but he's getting old and right now calzaghe is just too good for him....

would have been closer a couple of years ago, same result though...

Yeah look i dont really care about details....i just dont think hes unbeatable.
and snakey im not one to get personal, but you really should analyse calzaghe's career a little more before dissing him....he is a long time champ and has beaten many seasoned pro's....in the process he has failed to lose a fight. whats more he's coming off a whitewash win against someone most of the critics were favouring to win....

everyone is beatable at some point....but give joe his props, this is his time....

if he loses to johnson then feel free to lay on this "oh but lacy was overhyped and calzaghe not so good" jargon all you like....i dont think its gonna happen though, but stranger things have happened after all...

until then respect a guy that has earned respect...
