Wacko's Drunken Weekend: Round by Rounds of Corrales Castillo & Dawson Harding
Once again my fellow forum goers...it's time for another installment of Wacko's Drunken Round By Round!!!
This coming Saturday night we'll be in tow for the rubber match of Diego Corrales (40 wins with 33 ko's & 3 losses) & Jose Louis Castillo (54 wins with 47 ko's, 7 losses, & 1 draw) as they fight over bragging rights of who's who at the top of the 135lb Light Welterweight ladder.
Steeped in controversy, the first two fights of this wild trilogy set a landmark for heart in both fighters...the question remains: Can they bring the best out in each other one more time?
That answer my friends lies in the ring of the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada on Saturday June the 3rd, 2006 & you can gotdam well better believe that we'll be there...straight from the couch & right in front of the widescreen with the coverage...liquor in hand.
That being said...the fight will be televised by Showtime.
Well...fellars...as usual I like to do a bit of prep work for the up & coming match...so here goes...it aint much because we all know that I aint the greatest enthusiast of these two & we all pretty much know what's what with both fighters...but some things have got to be said & there are questions that need to be asked.
#1: This should & could be a smoker due to the fact that both men are going to be here to settle the score once & for all. Both have a win over the other...no matter how odd the win was. This is going to compel each man to lay it all out on the line punch for punch...the title's a plus too. Both men have taken their fair share's of beatings...so: Who's got the most left in the tank?
#2: The first fight ended with Corrales being dropped repeatedly & then spitting out his mouthpiece. The ref (Toney Weeks) gave Corrales a much necessary breather, took a point, & then Corrales came back to pretty much tear Castillo a new poop shoot. Again, Weeks got a bit too involved (to hear most people talk) & jumped in between the two as Corrales unloaded on Castillo until his eyes were rolling around in his head like marbles & drool was pouring outta his mouf like a slobering baby. Will Corrales repeat the magic & stop Castillo once again to even the score?
#3: The second fight ended in just as much controversy...but with Corrales climbing offa the canvas gasping for air like a fish outta water. Castillo came in overweight & it cost him some cash...but he still got the win. His team tried to tip the scales...literally & they got caught. So, when Castillo did'nt make weight (by 4-5 lbs I think) & went on to drop Corrales by way of a TKO...everyone screamed foul...everyone but Corrales. He took that pounding like a man because in the end...& IWHO...it was indeed Corrales fault for being wide a** open for the shot that he took. Same question...players reversed. Will Castillo repeat the shock & drama by stopping Corrales once again to close the door?
#4: Personally...I aint a fan of either one of these fighters...but the fights are entertaining to say the least & you gotta wonder what's gonna come of either man win, lose, or draw?
As showdown with rising Puerto Rican super star Migeul Cotto lies around the corner already mapped out for Castillo...can Corrales spoil that shot?
If so...will Corrales then get the crack at Cotto?
In the end...when all is said & done...will this be the end of the road for the loser of this match?
How far down the ladder will the loser fall?
#5: What's going to happen this time? I mean...the other fights will go down as being brawls...big time...but they also go down as fights with outside factors. If both matches prior went down with rules being bent...what else will go on this time?
Curious. That may be the main reason that I watch in the first place...that & too see who get's knocked out first...because let's face it...somebody's gonna be couting light bulbs, no doubt.
Then again...rules are rules & weights are weights...& what was done could not be undone...so Castillo was fined by the Nevada Athletic Commission...Corrales kept his title & here we go once again for the 3rd & let's hope final fight between these two.
Also...Friday night June the 2nd, 2006 we got a 12 rounder in the Light Heavyweight division as Bad Chad Dawson matches strength to skills with Eric Harding over the NABF's title.
Should be a grand weekend.
So...as always...break out the chips & salsa...your poison of choice & pick your spot on the couch or the living room floor...Saturday June the 3rd, 2006 is fight night & we all up in the muvah like your third sister's brother's cousin ya'll!
Cheers...& koneecheewah bitches.
