The Illuminati are a group of people focused on science and are in opposition to the Catholic Church, they supposedly infiltrated the Freemasons and a number of Masons were America's founding fathers, Franklin, Jefferson, Washington, Adams, etc. It was said that George Washington was very weary of the Illuminati and did not want them allied with the Masons because they "were a very dangerous group".
