I tend to agree. I like boxing, MMA and all combat related sports. I think the biggest thing MMA did was to show the public that some of these so called "masters" with their death touch, etc., got their a** kicked when involved in a real fight.

    Exactly.

Both Gomi (Pride FC) and Oscar De Le Hoya were on Best Damn Sports show and Gomi said if they was in boxing fight, Oscar would beat him with one hand tied behind his back, but in MMA Gomi would take out Oscar. Simple as that.

I understand that in their sport the MMA people would more than likely beat boxers....that is not the point.

Yes fighting the way they do looks sloppy as shit...let's combine wrestling with kick boxing....oh that'll be fantastic.

I know people like MMA, I'm not trying to sway their view or anything I just want to know legit reasons WHY

-It's more realistic...yeah fine whatever if I get in a bar fight I'm going to go Jean Claude Van Dam on someone....no I'll punch them and watch out for a beer bottle retaliation.

I think an mma'er would win in the cage, a boxer in the ring. In a bar brawl I'll take the boxer because they're usually stand-up contests in a crowded place.

MMA'ers also compete in a ring (Pride FC, IFL etc). If u meant boxing rules/match then aye a boxer would win.

Bar Brawl? they may usually be standup but unlike both MMA and Boxing, their are NO RULES AT ALL.

Yes alot of what anti MMA people post is ignorant and trying to tell them the truth or other wise is a losing battle..I will agree with some now that its on TV more main stream you get alot of overzealous yahoos that think they know an armbar a leglock,Triangle choke etc cause they see it on TV.. I train in MMA and anyone that does will tell you there are countless drills and techniques that we work on to know when to put one on(from the guard the mount etc.) then you do isolation drills working on that specific technique....PEOPLE GRAPPLING IS A GODAMN ART AS WELL AS A SCIENCE AND A BEAUTIFUL ONE AT THAT!!!!! aLSO I cant stand the ones that walk around with the Tapout Tshirts and all the Accessories but dont even know what a kimura is for crissakes...I feel like if you are gonna represent it like that you better be able to back it up or deal with the consequense when someone calls you on it

If you think kicking is "gay" or that a karate, Ninjitsu, Kung-fu, etc. practicioner would beat a MMA fighter, there is no hope for you.

Of course a good boxer would beat a good MMA fighter in a boxing match. But in a MMA fight, wheere the boxer can box and the MMA fighter can use a variety of skills, the MMA fighter wins 99% of the time via takedown and submission.
