Ok well let's see, the first thing I would recommend you do is look at the first season, it is still going on.Originally Posted by tam seddon

typically you have 5 options on a given fight
1)Favorite (odds on favorite) - this is usually a lower payout, because he is expected to win
2)Underdog (odds on underdog) - exact opposite of the favorite, pays better because he is expected to lose
3)Over (over rounds) - a number is assigned to each fight i.e. 9.5 if you pick over you are saying the fight will last longer than 9 and a half rounds, regardless of who wins.
4)Under (under rounds) - a number is assigned to each fight i.e. 9.5 if you pick under you are saying the fight will last less than 9 and a half rounds, regardless of who wins.
5)Draw - this is a huge payout, because the odds are so far against it
you can pick as many options as you want
for example, if the line looks like this :
Steve Cunningham = -110 = 10/11 = Factor 0.91
http://www.boxrec.com/boxer_display.php?boxer_id=036642
Guilermo Jones = +110 = 11/10 = Factor 1.10
http://www.boxrec.com/boxer_display.php?boxer_id=007532
Under 11.5 = +150 = 3/2 = Factor 1.50
Over 11.5 = +120 = 6/5 = Factor 1.20
Draw = +1000 = 10/1 = Factor 10.00
Your wager would look like this:
Cunningham $4000
Over $2000
Figuring your payout:
If your bet loses you subtract your wager from your total
If your bet wins, you multiply your wager times the factor on your pick and add that to your total
so in the example if Cunningham lost in the 2nd round you would lose
a total of $6000
if Cunningham won by decision you would win ($4000 x 0.91) + ($2000 x 1.2) = $6,040 would go to your total
The math may seem a bit confusing, but I do all the calculations for you, and if you ever want to know a payout just ask.

ok cheers for the help ill look at the other season and see how they did it and i will everntually pick it up! can you bet on any fight?
Typically I only handicap 2 or 3 fights a week, they are posted on the first post of the threadOriginally Posted by tam seddon
I do take requests though, so if want to bid on a particular fight, let me know REALLY early in the week
and I can handicap it for you and everyone can bid on it

Ok reading this back, I can tell I left out a major point....all of your bids are independent of each other,Originally Posted by killersheep
so if in the above example: Cunningham lost, but the fight goes the distance you lose the cunningham wager, but win on the over you picked!!

so its basically all the major fights of the week i.e a title fight? do you HAVE to put money on it?Originally Posted by killersheep
You do not HAVE to bid on any fight technically you could just let ride your starting 10k, and prolly be in good shape at the endOriginally Posted by tam seddon

I think you should change that rule and make everybody bet on a certain number of fights.Originally Posted by killersheep
