Mccline is a hesitant ass scaredy cat. It is an embarassment that Briggs lost to him, but he didnt come to fight in the Wlad loss. If Briggs gets blown out or Ko'd from Wlad it will be because he came in overweight and underestimated da Klit, just like Kirk Johnson, old Ray Mercer and a lot of other guys have done with both Klitschkos.Originally Posted by Starr

The reason is he ate enough power shots to realize he didn't want anymore...I know Wlas can hit...I remember the Mercer fight...Yes Ray was past his best but he had never been down before..I remember a 3 punch combo Wlad landed in the 2nd (I think)..Ray went down for the first time ever..He got up and looked at Wlad with that Holy S$%# expression and just shook his head in dis belief...Im no Wlad fan I think he's questionable at best..I was a fan of his Brother who IMO was the more durable and solid of the two..But I give Wlad his due his offense is awsomeOriginally Posted by Starr

Shannon has fought no one who was in their prime and the heavyweight division is wide open. After the loss to Lewis and let's forget McCline, the winner is the one who takes charge right away and has the pop to do it. Once again, who has Briggs fought? Klitsko does have the pop and I am a fan of neither fighter and in the heavyweight division, the big man went out and fought. He won, he lost and he ducked no one. He took his lumps. Did Shannon? Klisko has had very successful comebacks some sloppy but he learned and who has Shannon fought, an aging Ray Mercer who started his pro career at Thirty? Well anyway, I feel Briggs is getting a shot because everyone else is busy and like Shannon says, he has to keep busy and the champ can use the practice.
Right so Mercer just let Wlad pummel away at his head while shaking his head at him with his corner asking him if he was having fun yet?![]()
Neither has Wlad unless you cound Byrd.Originally Posted by johnsebastianmiran

Not quite but ok...Did u ever see the fight?? If not then see if you can find it somewhere and after the first knockdown you will see what im talking about....Point is...Wlads defense may not be the best...His stamina may not always hold up...Sanders proved he has trouble with high pressure but...as he showed in the Peters fight he is improving and unlike before just because he is down he is not out..Most of all i'll say it again...HIS OFFENSE IS AWSOME!!! Speed..Perfect form in the way he delivers his punches and POWER POWER POWEROriginally Posted by Starr

Since you're obviously another one of those that are buying into what HBO is selling, look at the end of the Wlad vs Byrd fight when they were doing interviews. They asked Lederman for his thoughts and as soon as he started talking about the holding, he got as far as "holding is not legal and it's just not fair", they cut him off quickly before the world hears the truth about what's really going on. Wlad is just an easy guy for them to promote and make money on so excuse me if I'm too smart to see through all that. He has the talent but no the chin or the heart and it shows by him having to hold a light hitting HW like Byrd.Originally Posted by mucho testosterone

I am just saying its better when Wlad fight fighters his own size, makes for a better and more competitive fight, unless the smaller shorter stature fighter is a banger , the short fighter is going to need an equalizer being he wont’ be allowed more then a few seconds on the inside this day an age. I love Mills lane, “ Fight outta there “ Toney won’t beat Wlad. it’s a fight not worth making or seeing.Originally Posted by mucho testosterone
..yes you're too smart to see that he held Byrd to not give him the angles he wanted. If you give a BOXER like Chris Byrd the angles then why even try to fight you won't be able to hit the guy!Originally Posted by Bx730NY
Byrd has shorter arms, and is the shorter fighter this means that the closer he gets the more effective his punches are and the less effective Wlad's are...so is it WRONG to tie someone up on the inside?
The same fucking people who get on Wlad's ass for holding never seem to realize that not only Ali did it, not only John Ruiz does it...one IRON MIKE TYSON held on the inside after he threw his punches so he couldn't get countered now tell me how is that different? Evander Holyfield used it as well...I mean I can go on if you want me to but you idiots want to never give Wlad credit that's fine with me it just shows you know fuck all about boxing
As for taller fighters fighting Wlad better...I'm not so sure about that. Lennox Lewis had trouble with taller guys but his jab wasn't as effective as Wlad's.
Wlad vs tall fighters/fighters close to his size
Axel Schulz 6'6 TKO 8
David Bostice 6'5 TKO 2
Derrick Jefferson 6'6 TKO 2
Jameel McCline 6'6 TKO 10
The thing is there is no one out there who will out jab Wlad...he has learned to fight tall and he does it very well.
Shannon Briggs is a fighter who was once very good but he hasn't shown that same skill for a long time which is why I think he'll be beaten badly
Wait you forgot Corrrie Sanders ! who cashed that Klitchko check ! now hold the dice !!! I like Klitchko, I am not saying he can't beat taller fighters, I am just saying he HAS to beat them, because he can’t hold them and have an advantage. . and to answer your question, it is 100% illegal to hold/ Clinsh when its part of a fighting strategy. its in the rule book, I say either enforce the rule by taking points away or give the shorter fighter time to fight out of the clinch ! this business of Ref’s running in and breaking up the inside is B.S. Let them fight out of there ! Simple Solution .Originally Posted by Lyle

Well become a ref then if you don't like it. Holding and pushing are strategic...are you saying holding when you are hurt isn't a STRATEGY
Wlad does hold at some times where I am like "What the hell are you doing?" but it's not like Ruiz where you can tell when he's going to do it right after ever single punch he throws
Yeah Corrie Sanders beat Wlad but he was swinging like a god damn gorrilla he's lucky he caught him honestly. I have no issues with that loss, other than lean on him Wlad would have had to cover up and play defense anyway...he decided to brawl and he got caught flush nothing wrong in getting caught like that happens to everyone. Also Corrie was a southpaw and a power puncher tell me that doesn't throw a wrench in anyone's game plan
LG have you ever seen heavyweights fight out of a clinch from let's say the 6th to 12th round..no they are bigger they run out of steam faster it's difficult for them to do it. And if you tie up someone's hands they just plain and simple aren't going to be able to fight out of it. Clinching is a part of boxing..the key is when the ref says BREAK you break, and Wlad does that.
