Bro Pryor & Leonard used to be close friends but once Leonard hit the big time he shunned Pryor. Pryor wanted help from Leonard to get exposure but Leonard wouldn't help him. Pryor asked him on numerous occasions for them to make a fight if he wanted it to be purely business & Leonard kept on saying it's a possibility but never took it further than that. IMO Leonard avoided the one guy who would show him up.

Yeah ducked is pretty harsh on ol' Leonard, conveniently avoided or maneuvered around maybe?

He lost that fight in my eyes....The pitter patter shit at the end of the round shouldnt win you a fight....But, I guess SRL was the guy to prove us all wrng...And Boxing had a truly great fighter leave the sport because of it....

I rated him just above average as a boxer, but higher as a business minded person....

SRL made sure of one thing and that was when he retired he was going to be well off...

He could have fought Tommy Hearns when Tommy wanted the fight and he would have had a shorter career, instead he ducks Tommy for 5 years before he finally gets the right money and Tommy is out of his prime...

I felt that his win over Hagler was what brought a huge black eye to the sport, Hagler was the only one that seriously worked to win that fight....SRL waited till the last 30 seconds of each round to do his work....

SRL sits comfortably now because of sound business choices, not for his boxing skill....

    Good Luck,

    Coach

Ducked is the right term...Leonard was an all-time great and so was Pryor, except you couldn't market aaron, he was a nightmare...Leaonard knew he would take a beating and make little money for it, so why?....

Wait a minute, exept 3 judges who were total morons, nobody had SRL winning Vs Hagler.

Hagler won tha tfight, no question...if you think the opposite, quit boxing, or at least pro boxing, the amateur boxing with the "touch counter" suits you better

I highly doubt Leonard would duck anyone

One of those "morons" scored the fight for Marv.

Leonard got into Haglers head well before fight night. Hagler was that intent on teaching Ray a lesson he lost the plot.
Watch the first 4 rounds where Marv fights orthodox to prove to Ray he can beat him while not even fighting his
natural style. He gave Ray 4 rounds start.

So you don't blame Hagler at all for giving the first 3 rounds away.. if he had won 2 of those first 3 rounds he'd still be champ but he decided to fight orthodox for the majority of them. It aint Leonards fault for taking advantage of what Hagler wasn't doing.

    I completely forgot that bro

but ok still, I really really think that Hagler won...he didn't deserved this decision, as the champ he made the fight. you can't win a fight fighting only 30secondes per rounds.
