Joe should have fought some like Mundine, Andrade, Bute. Atleast someone ranked in the top 10 would have been nice. There must be a lot of Hatton haters out there cause when there was talk of Hatton/ Urango he got sh*tted on for taking on a nobody. Same goes here for me with Joe. Fight someone decent man!!!
The Best There Is, The Best There Was, The Best There Ever Will Be
all big fights will happen for him next year before anyone starts dissing joe what until next year when he can fight winner of woods and johnson ect if he doesnt fight anyone like that ill agree with u but please wait for 2007
I know what your saying bro but no one waited for Hatton to fight Urango then move onto Castillo or other big fights. People just started dissing him for taking a easy fight. Same goes here bro. There were opponents Joe could have faced & would have got respect for, the 3 I mentioned earlier Erdei, Adamek hell even Soliman!Originally Posted by ICE COLD BOXING

if he doesn't get injured again.... this is a joke. the best fights might not be available, but as others have pointed out, there were better fights out there than this one--this guy is a complete tomato can. this is shameful.Originally Posted by ICE COLD BOXING
and whoever was talking like joe was going to call b-hop out of retirement like 4 fights down the line? if he's going to do that, he has to do it now--b-hop is almost 42!
how good is markus beyer ive never seen him ??
He's pretty crap mate, should have lost to Green in the 1st. Lost to Sanavia who was beaten by Morrade Hakker the guy was in a mis-match with Hopkins. Also got a gift over Lucas who Green demolished.Originally Posted by ICE COLD BOXING

ok thanks for reply cc
Im a big JC fan and always defend him, but this guy sounds pretty poor. I know the main men were out of the equation, but there are many others who should have been before this guy.
Personally I'd like him to shut up Froch, but I don't know if he's still injured, he broke his thunb against Magee.
As a Calzaghe fan, I confess I'm a little disappointed at this announcement, it wasn't a name that people were talking about as one of his final three 'career-making' fights. But, to be fair to Bika, he was way ahead of Beyer until the cuts stoppage, and could have been walking into this fight with Joe as a champ.
As for this:
He's said that he's only got three fights left, can he really convince all the doubters in two fights? In my mind, in order to create the legend he has to beat two fighters, the winner of the Kessler-Beyer fight, and the winner of Johnson-Woods. The problem is, however, that, the fight at light-heavy has been provisionally scheduled for early next year, which would mean that he would have to come back down to fight the winner of Kessler/Beyer.Originally Posted by ICE COLD BOXING
Then there is the whole question of mandatories. Stieglitz's people applied to the IBF to extend the mandatory period along with Warren for this belt, which would suggest that maybe someo sort of deal has been done there for a fight with Calzaghe, as for Markussen, eventually, the WBO will step in too. If he does try and come back down for a SMW fight next summer, he could be going in undefeated, but without any titles because he's had to vacate them both for the bigger money fight.
This fight is complete and utter bollocks. What is the point of risking a hand injury fighting a complete nobody.
He lost to Sam Soliman
For fucks sake, Calzaghe and Hatton have both soiled their reputations with these fights.
Why the hell would you fight a guy who lost to Sam Soliman, he's the 160 lb version of Maussa.
a bigto Joe, Frank and Ricky.
I am almost certainly in a minority of one, but I would like to see Calzaghe have this one last fight and retire.
A dodgy hand, bad back and personal problems...
Calzaghe needs to retire before he loses to someone who should not be able to beat him.
The mandatories and the belts should be a non-issue. Everyone knows JC is the man at SMW--and at this late stage in his career, he's fighting for legacy, not for alphabet straps. I'm sure you agree (and that history will too) that a fight against the Kessler/Beyer winner for no belts/alphabet title would be far more important and meaningful than a "title fight" against a no-name bum like Stieglitz.Originally Posted by superheavyrhun

Super Middleweight also acknowledge as Kessler's Kingdom when Calzaghe has retire
so you consider his end is coming right away Mr Britkid ? I don't think so, he trained so hard these last years, I think he can still do it, but only for big fights. I think he wants, you know, to retire but with big names on his resumeCalzaghe needs to retire before he loses to someone who should not be able to beat him.
you're by far too pesimist my friend![]()
