    Mandatories?
WBO has no respect for mandatories. Calzaghe has been allowed to pick and choose whatever opponent he's wanted for his entire reign. WBO does nothing whatsoever to force mandatories.
Now if this was because they wanted to leave room for more important fights - it would be acceptable or even commendable. But looking over Calzaghe's record that is not the case.
For this reason alone the WBO should still not be regarded as highly as "the other 3" organisations.

I really want to see Calzaghe fight much bigger names than he is...
He says his motivation is recognition and not money so,
Put your c*ck on the block and take the smaller purses and go after the mega stars stateside

Much as I hate to refer to the *evil one* on the board, Joe's promoter has said that it is probable that he and Enzo will make their American debuts early in the new year. I can't remember where I saw it, but it was over the past day or two.

I do know that regardless of his unbeaten run and the Lacy performance he is miles behing Hatton moneywise.
He has to go to the US in his next fight.

He has p1ssed me off not taking a big fight after Lacy though
    Well said, Big H

Calzaghe has beaten anybody worthy of note in the division for a decade and for anyone to detract from that is underestimating the skill Calzaghe has...

Agreed. Bika is not the man to be coming back against, but if Calzaghe sticks to his word and fights 3 times next year and hopefully 2 of them being big fights then all is forgiven...
    CC back buddy

That is what motivates him NOT ££$$$££.
Which is why he is the fighter he is today.
Would love to see a UK fighter (especially a Londoner) pull this off.
    What do we think?
That explains why he didn't ever come over here to fight real competition like Jones or Hopkins j/k I think he deserves it for being undervalued around the boxing world, but he will never get the respect Louis got for it, and i don't think he should either. Louis fought in rough times for people, and he brought inspiration to the world where as Calzaghe is barely known to the average boxing fan.

Does it really matter, Louis held one title, the undisputed heavyweight title, not one of 4 or 5 different organizations titles, so in my opinion it will not mean much, just like when Valuev breaks Marciano's record, which I think he will and not because he's the best fighter out there, we all know he's not that good but he's huge and may beat anyone who gets in with him. Including Klichztko and I think he's the best of whats in the heavy division right now, but could he take the clubbing he would receive from the big guy. ??

It doesn't matter. He's defending the WBO title, for god's sake. The WBO! A belt that's not even acknowledge by Ring magazine. It's worth less than the IBF title. And that's saying something.

yeah....I don't see it happening....not because he doesn't heve the ability...but because his hands will force him out sooner than later....
It feels good to be back home.
