    Klitschko, Brock speak!

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

IBF heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko and his vanquished challenger Calvin Brock spoke to the press following Wladimir's seventh round knockout win on Saturday night at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

When Wladimir Klitschko arrived, he stated, "I know Calvin Brock was here before me. Unfortunately I can't shake his hand as well as to wish him good luck in his career. He was a good, strong fighter, he has good defense, and he didn't allow me to get my distance.

"I want to thank Madison Square Garden and then the people of New York. The real winners tonight were the kids in Nanibia." (A portion of the proceeds from of each of the 14,260 tickets sold will go to the UNESCO Education for 'Children in Need' project, specifically for a special school project in Namibia, Africa. Wladimir guaranteed at least $250,000.)
This right here is just admirable, you gotta respect a guy who takes the time and dedicates part of his life helping the life of others who are less fortunate....
Especially kids man, I gotta admit anyone who puts in on a good cause theres really nothing much you can do but applaud the man and respect him.
Gotta mention again Barret too for wearing the 'pink' gloves last month for cancer awareness.

Right on Wladdy.... After all those kids are tomorrows future, the future leaders of the world. In those kids might be the next Nelson Mandela, who knows? ? ? ?

if he did nothing then who fucked up Sergei's face
    Did you see the fight?
    yes

    It was boring.

Every shot that Briggs hit Sergei with hurth im though. Sergei had a pretty bruised up face after the fight

Of course if Briggs fought like that against Wlad it would be an early night for him.

He better look impressivei n his first defense or he is no future in the Heavyweight division.

So he should fight Ray Austin or Sultan Ibragimov and knock them out in devastating fashion.

Then he has legitimacy. Until then he's always a question mark.

People who say Shannon looked shit against Lyakovich and say the entire fight sucked(until the last minute) I agree.

But if Calvin Brock is even competitive with someone like Wladimer all I see is people saying "See that, Wladimer had an off night and still knocked that guy out!"

I don't hear that at all for Briggs.

Well anyway.. it doesn't surprise me.

    But here's something I'm mad at(yes..me mad..its a shocker isn't it)

For the Hopkins vs. Eastman fight(which I rewatched today)

Lampley and all of them were giving kudos to Bernard for his safety first style and still being able to pick off the opponent. Larry Merchant and Jim Lampley even said "Bernard is so great that you eliminate the crowd element and still dominate your opponent and be marketable if you're that good. He's that good!"

Mayweather does it against Baldomir and they say "True champions stay and trade and knockout their opponents."

    STFU!!

WHO the hell does briggs thinks he is?
Who the hell did briggs beat to get a shot at anyone?
to be honest with you, if the reff did his job in the briggs fight, it woulda went to the score cards anyways.
Also, I wanna bring up the point that the reff in the klitschko fight was rediculous, not 1 f***in warning or anything about the hitting behind the head....

Shannon Briggs had a good win streak, he may not have....he DID NOT fight the best competition but hell, he's still dangerous and the only reason Wlad and Finkle went after him was to sell out the Garden....oh well.

The whole deal with Calvin Brock STARR, is that he was undefeated and therefore NO ONE KNOWS HOW GOOD HE IS....he had not stepped up like that before and he did well, he gave Wlad some trouble and it is good that even though he had a little trouble he stuck to his plan and did not panic.

Everyone knows Briggs' shortcomings: stamina, chin, heart

pretty much everyone knows Lyakhovich's shortcomings as well...he hasn't lost but twice but he has been down, he has been hurt, and he doesn't have the best power in the world.

starr i watched the hopkins vs eastman fight again a few weeks back, and i know what you mean, the crowd are even booing in that fight. people are hipocrates but i am a firm beleiver that the champ should fight like a champion and show some heart and balls.

Shannon acts like he deserves respect but he hasn't earned it especially with such a crap fight vs Lyakhovich which I don't really think he won....I think the fight was over and Sergei then went through the ropes.

Wlad fought a LEGIT guy, Calvin is no slouch...sure he had a sparse resume but he was undefeated, he was a decent amateur and gave Wlad some trouble....and then Wlad KO'd him....good fighters work through that type of stuff whereas if anyone gives Shannon trouble he either quits and coasts the rest of the fight or he gets KO'd...Wlad NEVER gives up, he might get hurt, cut, or knocked down but you know he's going to get back up
I'm in FULL agreement with ya my southern brother! But the fact remains that even if Shannon is "all talk", he wants to make this fight happen eventually as I think Wladimir has now solidified his mark as 'The Man' in the division. Shannon could also take a fight with Holyfield for a huge payday and I wouldn't be a bit surprised if one of my all-time favorites actually beat Briggs. That would be some fuked up shite!!

If the fight happens and Wlad KO's Briggs, NO ONE can stop him and I think he unifies easily!

Briggs is a tough fighter to beat if only for the first 3-4 rounds

You being mad is nothing new. If you got 49 pepperonies on a 50 pepperoni pizza you'd kill the cook.

That's just because Mayweather wouldn't put Merchant or Lampley on the payroll.
