This is the same Oscar who got peppered with straights from Felix Sturm, the same Oscar who settled for trying to steal rounds from Hopkins, the same Oscar who couldn't stop any of Shane Mosley's shots.
The only time I saw Oscar pudgy and unprepared in a fight was against Sturm. Not that Sturm doesn't deserve credit. But that was not the hungry Oscar.

I thought he boxed well against Hopkins, actually.

He did get hit by Mosely.

No need to worry about Floyd getting his respect. If he steps in with Oscar and outboxes him, he'll get it.

Of course, he'll have to settle for stealing rounds to do it ...

I can't see ODLH pulling it off this late in his career with all his inactivity and also his inability to really cope with Shane Mosley's speed. Floyd by UD.

#2 One can see that unlike RJJ or Mosley, Floyd's combinations aren't the best in the world...he can't "shine shoes" like those guys

#3 Oscar has power, speed, size, strength, and the chin to absolutely lay the smack down on Floyd

    #4 This is at 154....

    Good Night Mayweather!
Dont expect Delahoya to come out as aggressive as he did against Mayorga. Floyd has a much better defense and you will see this reflected in how Oscar fights. I dont see him winning exchanges here; much like in the first Mosley fight, PBF's hands are just too fast. 154 yeah, maybe he does have the power to KO Floyd here, but he definitely has to catch him first and Im sure Mayweather is very aware of Oscar's ability to KO folks with the left hook. Floyd's shoulder roll defense will come into play should this become a factor, Im sure. Delahoya is gonna have to take it to him and catch him. The question is can he? Will he? I dont often see Delahoya pressing the action against a fighter of Mayweather's ability and I see him fighting going backwards and trying to bait opportunities to counterpunch rather than trying to walk Mayweather down and impose his strength like he should...

Floyd Mayweather Jr, by Unanimous Decision unless the judges pull a fast one and decide to suck Delahoya off into retirement, which is entirely possible.

After the tactics Floyd used against an unskilled light hitting opponent in boldomir, I just cant see how he can live with ODLH at the weight, no way. It's ok Floyd using hit and run but Oscar will close him down and catch him properly various times (Floyd aint gonna like that ) and stop him. Oscar will work the body big time, of this i am sure

I wonder what ring size will be used?? Undoubtedly ODLH was on top of that in negotiations.

Floyd can't hurt him that's one of the points I was making...it takes away one more way to win.

Oscar could just take a couple shots off the noggin and Floyd breaks his hands and he's helpless

    OR

Oscar could drop him a couple times and win a decision

    OR

Oscar could catch him hurt him and finish him

    and

    Floyd could outbox him

I'm not saying there is no reason to have the fight...I'm just saying I like Oscar's chances as opposed to Floyd's previous competition.
Very well put, the fact that the fight is at LM just limits Floyds options. Theres no way he can seriously hurt ODL who has stood toe to toe with the likes of Vargas and Trinidad. I really want Oscar to win this,
    because-
1, Mayweather wil think twice about retiring and possibly fight a Margarito or a Cotto.
2, Oscar will further confirm himself as one of the all-time greats

Oscar has more than a good chance to beat PBF
is this assuming the Oscar of 9 years ago will show up?
first of all the De La Hoya that fought Sturm was an overweight, unfit De La Hoya, and with all that he made the fight competitive, i don't think he won the fight but it was no shut out, i had it scored for Sturm by one round, but you could make an arguement for it to be a draw, also the first round it looked like Oscar was about to score a knockout at the very end of the round but came the bell, and then went his stamina, Just re-watched the De La Hoya/Gatti fight last night and De La Hoya's win over Gatti is actually a lot more impressive than that of Mayweather's, reasons why, cause De La Hoya stood toe to toe against a pre-Ward Gatti and battered him, Mayweather pot shoted a post-Ward trilogy Gatti and the only knockdown he scored was a flash knockdown while Gatti was distracted by the ref, i firmly believe that if the focused Oscar that showed up to FIGHT Hopkins comes to fight Mayweather the pretty boy isn't going to look so pretty by the end of the night, if Castillo (although he is a big puncher), who doesn't hit anywhere close to as hard De La Hoya hits, hurt and had Mayweather guarding his sides imagine what'll happen come May 5th, Mayweather doesn't have the power to stop him, and De La Hoya has the speed, size, skills to beat him, May 5th is the end of the pretty boy, the return of the Golden Boy, and IMO would be an amazing finish to an already brilliant career, a 10 time world champion, the third 5 division champion (Leonard, Hearns, De La Hoya), and the first and only 6 division world champion, that's a legend, maybe Mayweather should study that

also DLH has the better much sharper jab which should keep the smaller Mayweather at bay
