James Toney in the fight against Roy JOnes when he was getting hit HARD he said he was having fun, and he also seems to always have a smile in the ring.
Emmanuel Augustus.
Jumps in the ring against anyone any time and genuinely loves every aspect of sport.
Sure he may dog a bit, but damn, you can't deny his love of being in the ring.
Haven't seen much fight in him in the last 3 fightsOriginally Posted by boozeboxer

Gatti. but he's done. Morales, Corrales, Barrera, Pacquiao... Man, I love their weight division. A bunch of fighters
What about Ricky Hatton?
HOLYFIELD takes it, hands down.
Gatti
Honorable mention
barrera
morales
Well I can't actually say if they fight just for the love of the sport? I mean that has to be part of it with many guys the money is also another part...Here are guys I know don't need boxing to make a good living so they must really love the game...
Wlad Klitschko...The guy has a doctorite for goodneess sake
Calvin Brock...successful banker
Jean Marc Mormeck...Successful Businessman..
Bernard Hopkins...I am sure he started out for just money but heis an all time great now and just boxes for fun IMO
Oscar De La Hoya..Cmon the guy is the richest earning fighter in history
like I said just thoughts
Hidden Content IN CASE THEY ALL FORGOT WHAT REAL HEAVYWEIGHT POWER WAS!!!
Excellent ! Fighting gives Ricky a hard on ! He is like a caged animal.. non stop action this one !Originally Posted by Realitycheck77
Great fighter. Hard worker. Loves what he does. BUT... for the thrill of fighting?... I would have to say no. He would choose tougher opponents rather than padding his record if this was the case.Originally Posted by Kel
Wlad has a doctorite, but in what?? Sports medicine or something I believe?? None of those guys would be making a fraction of what they stand to in boxing, outside of the ring.. Except De La Hoya, but that's only after he has established himself as a superstar and all of his money still comes from boxing. Hopkins is certainly making big money these days, and obviously money has been important to him or he would have taken 40% to fight Roy Jones.. Not that he didn't make a smart business decision by fighting Oscar for more money, but still you know that avenging the loss against a much bigger man would have been a FAR better achievement.Originally Posted by DaxxKahn
I tend to agree with VD on this. They pretty much all start out for the love of it. Money isnt of concern because they dont make enough of it (except in rare cases). The money becomes an issue when it becomes an issue and it always does.
Was it Brendan Ingle who said "When its ten percent of 400 quid they dont mind.....but when its ten percent of 400,000 or 4,000,000.....then its a problem"
When God said to the both of us "Which one of you wants to be Sugar Ray?" I guess I didnt raise my hand fast enough

Agreed. I can't think of another reason why he is still fighting. He's been the champ. He has the money. He's not drawing the same types of crowds that he did before. He just loves to fight.Originally Posted by Klitschkofan
