Winky Wright vs. Ray Leonard at 160

leonard would outland winky but punches would be hitting arms and elbows winky would land most affective punches but leonard would throw more its pick em depends what judges we get do they like accurate and clean punching or do they like punches that are thrown in bunches and more active guy ??

I can agree with this, and I think Winky would throw more... He threw more punches in the Quartey fight than Leonard has thrown in any fight I've seen from what I can remember, and on the outside Leonard was never all that busy against good boxers. I think Winky's short heavy punches would be hard for Leonard to overcome.

Ray Leonard never 'schooled' anyone of consequence above welterweight. Not only would Winky right win a unanimous decision over him at middleweight, he also would outpoint him at 154 as well. Leonard never impressed me above 147. And he sure as hell wouldn't get away with that little last 30 second of a round pitter patter that stole him his undeserved Hagler W against a technician like Winky.

hahah sounds like someone bitter who lost $ on the srl vs hagler fight LOL. well ill say this he was smart enough to win the crowd thus win the judges by those last 30 minute flurries and just like RJJ in his later part of his career u do have to add up all the punches landed to the body cleanly opened and not even blocked. those are all points added up whether u dislike the flurries or not.

Roy Jones flurried less later in his career and became more of a pot shot fighter so he wouldn't get hit as much, and he would pick apart his opponent one or two punches at a time.

no bro im not talking like the decline jones im talking the late 168 and late 175 rjj. i love them sick combos and ridiculous flurries to the body. he even WON the first Tarver fight IMO cuz i was sitting ringside that night by clean effective body punches mostly due to the flurries to tarvers body. yes tarver flurried back but most of those hit RJJ arms even tho he was pinned against the ropes.

For real. I was at that Mandalay Bay that night as well. It was a couple of years ago. I taught Jones deserved the win too. I don't remember who they fought, but Winky Wright looked like shit that night, but Jermain Taylor looked pretty good.

The first Tarver fight he just landed more... the first few rounds he lost, but then he took control of the fight, and late 175 RJJ was just pot shotting his fights against Gonzalez, Telesco, Harmon, Woods, Kelly he just hit a few times on the outside, and very rarely would put together a 4-5 punch combination which was his trademark at middleweight divisions.

Ray Leonard's ability to control distance and move help him out vs Wright though I see Winky as a more defensive Tommy Hearns....of course he doesn't have that power but he's a lanky fighter with the great ability to use the 1-2 to counter pretty much anything.

Wright-Hagler would be interesting....I think Marvin's body work wins it for him as well as Wink's suspect chin (he has been floored numerous times before)
