Toney's career has been great regardless of what anyone thinks but sadly i do believe that it is time to hang it up.

Toney got screwed in the 1st fight and by the sound of it he got dominated and dropped once in this fight.. not bad for a guy who was a middleweight-Supermiddleweight great to move up and make hell with a 250lb explosive fisted fighter.. The same fighter that dropped Klit 3x so show some respect.. Klit will never even come close to forging a legacy even close to James. James Hall of Fame plaque was reserved along time ago my man..

Priceless and brilliant. Klitschko is nothing compared to Toney and never will be. Toney is a ring legend and that is that. Maybe if Klitschko fans would take their heads out of Wlad's ass for a moment and really think about it, they would arrive at that realization too.

I really don't think Peter improves so much as it was Toney not fighting as well as in the first fight.Toney showed his age more than Peter showed a huge improvement.Like I said before the fight Peter had the confidence knowing Toney couldn't hurt him and pressured him more this time.After Toney hit him with his best shots and Peter didn't budge that had a big effect on Tony's mindset from then on.

Why would I be sweating?Just because Peter beat Toney has nothing to due with him being any better than he was when he fought Wladimir the first time.Styles make fights and Toney has nothing in common with Wladimir.

Hats off to Toney for moving from Middleweight to H.W. and accomplishing all the things he has accomplished. The man's been down twice in his entire career. Although it's been said that Peter knocked him down with a jab, I would have to see it. You certainly can't say the same about Wlad. How many times has he been down during his career? Even got KTFO out by such luminaries as Brewster, Purrity and an over-the-hill Sanders. On the other hand, a 38 year old, 'blown up middleweight' has mixed it up with one of the biggest power punchers of the H.W. division. Perhaps age caught up with Toney, Perhaps Peter really improved, possibly a combination of those factors proved to be too much for Toney. But here is the rub:
I, unlike you, will never have to sit at the end of my chair sweating balls over whether or not Wladdy will crumble. I won't have to worry about my fighters china-chin being fractured by a strong wind. I won't have to worry about whether or not Manny gave Wladdy a ruffi to calm him down before he shits himself again in the ring.
I can be ever confident that Toney is a walk in to the Boxing Hall of Fame. I can also brag that I've seen one of the craftiest fighters in history fight the good fight with his will, determination and god given skills. Toney won't be remembered for his mouth or personality. Everything you have to know about Toney can be witnessed by his outstanding record and ring grit. Conversely, Wlad is best remembered and utterly marred by his dreadful failings...his lackluster and questionable heart...his undying commitment to bring all of his severe psychic frailties into the ring with him.
I'm in full agreement...Wlad is the best H.W. out there. But since I'm not much of a fan, I won't have to sweat through every fight he has with someone that can throw a decent punch.
I won't be manically biting my fingertips off before, during and after (if it gets that far) every round. I'll simply sit and wait...just don't think I'll have to wait for a long time.

When James Toney came to fight, he was very enjoyable to watch. I'll always remember the slick son of a b!tch in his better fights. I love how he rolled out of punches to set up the big blows. Man he was slick.

Hopefully he realizes it is time to walk away. If i was confident that he had enough left to make an impact i'd tell him to go for it but i think it's best that he walks away.

As much as I have appreciated Toney's Boxing exhibitions in the past there is NO EXCUSE for showing up HEAVIER than the last fight.
All the talk about how he used to be a middle etc is irrelevant.
If you want to fight at heavy,thats your choice. He lost badly,that is to say not just by a large margin,but in the manner in which he lost.
Heavier,slower,and then ungracious to the end. HE has had 4, count em FOUR,chances to do something at heavy. Ruiz NC rahman draw,and peter twice. HE showed in this fight that he did not deserve the rematch because he does not take his opportunities seriously. I am pissed off at Toney. When I saw the weigh in picks I was F#ckin choked! I did a sarcastic re write of the associated press release of the weigh-in,but someone dissed the post so I didn't follow it up.
I don't care if he ever fights again. $1.1 million and he can't get "UP" for the fight? what a enormous prick! IF he gets down to cruiser below 190 THEN MAYBE I'll watch him fight. Otherwise he can p1ss off!
He needs to take a cue from Byrd. You can't disrespect the boxing fans by coming to a championship fight looking like this.

To me, what makes a Peter/Wlad rematch so compelling are the improvements BOTH fighters have made since their 1st fight. I agree with P4PKing - If I were a Klitchko ball-washer, I'd be pretty nervous. Bring on the sadclicks

I'm a Toney fan. And I'll tell ya what happened, his fukin gluttoney finally caught up to him, that and his 38 years, but mostly his gluttoney. Thousands of sit-ups? Really James, who the fuk are you kiddin? The lazy fatty, legitamately lost last night, no doubt, he can say what he wants, but he just didn't throw enuff punches. He won the first fight, but not this one. Peter made some adjustments, still can't really throw a decent punch, but he's got a great chin and power. I pray he can rematch Klitschko and KO him, after he beats Oleg. Toney blew it. Anyway, he's had a hell of a career, and I'll always be a fan, but damnit if he isn't a lazy fat ass.
