Tony worries me cause he can take and dish out punches all night. Only thing is, Cotto doesn't concentrate mainly on the head like most guys. And I doubt Tonys body is as tough as his face. I don't care how good your chin is, your body can only take so much.Originally Posted by El Gamo

Williams is very much ready to step up and take on a top welterweight. Why should he keep on racking up on second tier fighters? The kid already has like 40 fights in. Does that remind you of someone else they said wasn't ready for the top tier because he hadn't beat top guys yet? Hatton, when he defeated King Kostya. Margarito might not be afraid of Williams but he knows this guy is definitely capable of beating him and putting him on the backburner. Does anyone remember Williams use to be a Margarito sparring partner and soon enough was giving him the business. Margarito knows that the kid has skills and his reason to be stripped to take on Cotto is not just a business decision. He passed up his mandatory to take on Clottey. Clottey isn't exactly a name. How many of Clottey's fights have been headliners that you've watched? And Margarito isn't exactly taking all comers. Many people have called him out but namely Zab offered to fight him for his first fight back and that is definitely a big enough name. But I am no fool and I am a thorough boxing fan, competitor, trainer, and judge every now and then. So I say this also, Margarito is no bum or journeyman by far. He is another guy who is good at fighting but is victimized by the business of boxing. I can't blame Margarito for not taking on the dangerous, possible spoiler, Williams. Just like other good fighters who happen to be good business people you have to pick the right fights for you if you are in it for the buck first, which these fighters deserve. But lets not bash or belittle the guys who are being avoided in attempts to mask what the truth actually is. Lets just keep it real and say I'd rather pass on a Margarito-Williams fight to secure a Margarito-Cotto fight. Either fight can quite possibly go to either guy but which fight is a better business decision?
I have said it before and I will say it again...What has Paul Williams done to deserve a title shot??......IMO it is another black eye on the sport....WHEN WILL FIGHTERS ACTUALLY HAVE TO WORK THEIR WAY THROUGH THE RANKINGS??

Cotto's mandatory is Otkay Urkal, who's last 2 opponents at welter were a combined 3-13...... How the hell is he a mandatory?? I suspect you don't get as upset about that one, simply because Cotto doesn't stand to lose. Could be wrong.Originally Posted by DaxxKahn
I've never seen Otkay Urkal fighting. I am interested in comments of anyone who has seen him. Do you think he may have any chance with Cotto?Originally Posted by p4pking
About Margarito, it looks like he is will let the title vacant to fight Cotto. I think Cotto is going to crush Margarito with his body punches. However, Cotto has to be careful with the upper and straight right hand. Williams has impressed me more with his height rather than his skills. I don't think he beats Margarito neither Cotto.

Fair enough, I don't really agree with you in terms of a champ moving up though, imo if a fight can be arranged beforehand where one champion moves up to fight another, that's all well and good... Of course it's all a matter of the situation and who is involved.. I mean can you object to Mayweather moving up and "getting a shot" and Oscar's WBC belt(that he won from Mayorga who won it vacantly from Pichirillo) ?Originally Posted by DaxxKahn
Why bro? Didn't expect to hear that from you.Originally Posted by Majesty

A guy like Baldomir was pushed aside for years and turns out he was a legit guy.....I know the rtecord is an exaggeration but it is the idea of it Iam trying to get across....Fair is Fair...But like I said this is boxing
