I'm not blaming Vitali. You are right, it's the WBC's fault and I'm blaming the WBC. They have the loophole to let it's former champ unretire and jump right in, at their discretion. They have a choice, and they are choosing unfairly. It's a joke, because likely their plan was for Toney to win the title, fight Maskaev (when the rematch happened) then fight Vitali. The judges screwed that up, so they mandated the rematch. Peter screwed that up for them again. Now, Vitali's ready, and promise to Peter or not, they want to give him his shot. It ain't Vit's fault. He's just taking advantage of his opportunity. Fair play to him, but Peter is still getting screwed. Do you think Briggs or Caveman is going to fight Peter when he's not their mandatory? If they are going to lose, they, like everyone else in the HW division, would rather go out in a blaze of glory with a Klitchko payday.

I don't blame them for being the big paydays. I don't even blame Maskeav. The WBC shouldn't even give him the option.

vitali wants to fight Maskaev because he knows that is the only way the klit brothers can both hold titles at the same time. vitali can't beat any of the other champs that's why he wants the chump. He waited until Peter beats Toney the second time to announce that cause he was banking on Toney winning. He knows he can't beat Peter so he wants to win it from Maskaev so even he loses or if he decides to retire again, he's ok with that cause they did what they set out to do and they're happy with that. That's why I no longer respect either klit as a real champ.

#1 You're NOT right Vitali = Emeritus Champ and therefore was able to come back and fight FOR THE WBC TITLE whenever he wanted to.

#2 Yes Sam Peter won his #1 Contender status BUT the WBC already promised Vitali his shot......all I can say is it's bad timing.

#3 The WBC and Oleg Maskaev had control of this situation and therefore they are to blame

...sure Vitali COULD take a warm up fight he and COULD fly a rocket ship to the moon! What's wrong with making money and winning a title right away, he's an older fighter and may not feel as though he has enough time to fuck around with a warm up fight OR he may just feel he's good enough to go ahead and win which I think is true.

Sam Peter needs to take as little risk as possible considering he's the #1 mandatory. He should fight a 6'6" or thereabouts, pushover to stay fresh for the Klitschkos (because Vitali will win, unless that leg is shot) and to minimize the possibility of losing. An L at this point would force him to work his way back up.

These are the most recent rankings of all heayweight divisions. Peter isn't ranked by the WBA or the IBF (I'm guessing he just doesn't pay their fees at all). The WBO, if that counts, has him ranked at #2, behind Sultan. I assume that he will be the mandatory for the winner of Briggs-Ibragamov, but I'm not sure. Shannon Briggs BUM had a title fight where he only had to really fight 1 round and has a tiny guy lined up for his first defense....Vitali might eat a few right hands before KO-ing Shannon but the KO would come!

Nicolay Valuev....undefeated, a HUGE fighter (in size) and would promise to be a huge payday for Vitali due to the novelty of the event but Nicolay was stunned by Monte Barrett, end of discussion!

I understand you get worked up about your guys cause I do too but it seems that more and more people are resorting to that name calling and stuff and it's starting to take away from the forum.
