I guess Mosley, though he didn't exactly look spectacular at 147 versus Estrada or Cruz.

Nice try. Shane was coming off of back-to-back victories looking pretty prime against De La Hoya when he turned down a third to fight Winky. And unlike Collazo, one could certainly argue that Winky could take Shane at any point in Shane's career anyway. My question still stands.Originally Posted by Jimboogie
But seriously, where's the RBR thread for this? Wacko?
Aha! But why did he turn down the thrid fight with Dela-Hoya?Originally Posted by shza
Anyway, not meaning to side track, Collazo isn't fighting a shot Mosley.

I know this isn't what the Hatton fans want to hear... But I think it may very well come down to Mosley and how he handled the move back to 147, how his speed has kept up etc.. I think if he is in great shape and serious like he sounds to be, he will win this fight by mid round KO. People forget that Hatton had very little problem hitting Collazo, it was the counter punching that gave him so much trouble... But Shane is alot faster and more powerful than Ricky at welterweight, or at least he should be. If he uses good movement and combinations I don't expect Collazo to last very long. Don't be surprised if he ends up counting lightbulbs.
I am taking Mosely by UD. It will look closer than what the score cards will reflect. I expect Collazo to have a good showing, enough to look good without getting blown out. He will do enough to make it competitive, and like I said Mosely will win the UD (8 to 4 my guess) but it will appear closer than that. Shane will have to much experience and speed for Collazo.

I ended up taking Mosley by UD. I think Collazo will be just good enough to lose competitively. I can't bet against Shane. For some reason, Forrest had his number, and Winky is Winky - bigger, great D, great chin, vicious jab to keep Shane off balance.
Collazo is a nice figher, but Shane is going to pick him apart, little by little. I'm not sure I see a stoppage, unless it's very late. I think Shane KO'd Vargas because he was brawler who walked into punches. Collazo is a little cuter. He won't get hit flush quite as often and I think he'll be able to go to full 12, and he'll probably manage to take 3 or 4 rounds. That's my storry and I'm stickin to it.
Let's hope that Wacko's grandmother is doing okay and that he is not away because of that.Originally Posted by shza

Yea. Hatton fans all seem to hope Collazo will win this one.. But at the same time I don't think anyoen can deny Hatton is not well suited to welterweight and didn't have the punch or workrate he had shown previously when he fought Collazo. Mosley is, that's all.. I think that he really has shaken off some cobwebs since losing to Wright again and returning to welter, but I always thought it was slightly dumb of him to then move up to 154 again for Vargas. I seem to remember he didn't weigh in much over 150 though, so Im just expecting him to look as good as he did against Vargas, which wasn't great, but it'll be enough I think. It's not as if Collazo has been tested like this before, Mosley will be hitting him a lot harder than Hatton was, and Collazo won't be able to put a dent on him Shane has a great chin, he's taken big punches at 154 and stood up to them fine. I think Collazo's cuteness, or defence is slightly overrated, the only thing that stopped Hatton from constantly hitting him was that Collazo could hurt him back with counter shots. If he can't budge Mosley on the inside, I see him crumbling somewhere along the line.Originally Posted by ono
I pick Mosley by late KO. No arguments to support... just a hunch.
I forgot/didn't think this was on Saturday, good news indeed. It's not a hard one to pick though, and HARDLy a pick em fight you guys. "Sugar" Shane Mosley by UD, fo sure. He'll have some difficulty with Collazo, possibly lose up to 4 rounds, but not anymore than that. Remember this is Shane Mosley fighting Collazo NOT Ricky Hatton fighting Collazo.Originally Posted by Jimboogie
