come up in weight 12 pounds when he later could weigh 230 just 5 years later? I do not think that was that big a deal to gain 12 pounds after so many years. Hearns moved up and fought Virgil Hill 30 pounds more than he fought Ray Leonard. Yet in that case Hearns won also and against a more experienced guy. Duran gets more credit than he should for some wins. If he were around now and he beat Zab Judah, people would act he beat Mayweather. Yet then when he did fight Mayweather, he would lose a decision and people would say he was too heavy or had the flu when he fought. He always has been given considerations. Duran was a great fighter but overrated. No way do I think he warrants 1-10 p4p.. Maybe 20-30. As for the Leonard fight, I think it was more of a disadvantage to Leonard the inexperience than the weight for Duran. Didn't Duran beat Palomino easily enough? Although Carlos Palomino was overrated as are most West Coast fighters from Westminster Boxing club in Orange County. Jackie McCoy and Noah Cruz (Westminster Boxing) were not the most honest guys, not that honesty in boxing is the norm. Duran didn't have weight problems he had style problems. He had his feet wide apart always and if a guy were willing to stand and try and throw punches he did well, but when the guy would box and move and use the ring Duran was usually outfought. And I do not mean close fight, I mean UDs.. Look before I thought Duran KO Shane, but then I have been thinking about this Duran admiration stuff and looking at the stats. Shane is the type of guy who could beat Duran. Mayweather also. Delahoya? I am not sure. Probably but that would be harder since his handspeed is not as great as Mosley or Mayweather and he liked to hit guys and stay there for them. Why did Duran beat Barkley later? Barkley stood in front of him, which is the kind of guy he likes.
