    I personally never heard much about Marsh and to be honest never seen any of his fights so I can't comment on him.
    But yes he did retire as champ.
    Terry Marsh never retired as champion. he was stripped of his title on medical grounds but was later cleared to box in america. He was due to box on a top rank show, but because bob arum couldnt sell the fight to uk tv he took Marsh of the bill and Marsh retired.

    i said the ali/clay thing and got abuse for it even though a well respected analyst and madison square matchmaker teddy brenner said the same thing

    it was meant as a bit of irony but some people on ere either dont have a sense of humour or are so far up their own backsides its untrue haha
