    Don't.
Taylor-Spinks has "mismatch" written all over it.
Spinks would be giving up 7 inches in reach, 4 inches in height, and tons of size. Spinks is a natural 147 pounder, Taylor may be fighting at 175 before his career is over.
Spinks was knocked out by Zab Judah, a 147 pounder, and now he's supposed to take Taylor's punch?? No way.

They are both jokes. Mora only wants to fight where he can get his home cookin and Taylor only wants to beat up on smaller men. It's a smart move for Mora. It's also a bitch move. Probably because he's a bitch. As for Taylor, now the date is available, why not offer it to Miranda or one of the other deserving MW's. Cory Spinks? Cory Spinks? You're gonna fight Cory Spinks? Wow.

Why not give a shot to the LOSER of Duddy/Bonsante tonight?

Mora should fight the winner of the Duddy vs. Bonsante fight.

JT picking Spinks to fight next is just crap! What happened to JT?? Wasnt he the one saying that he wanted to fight only the best? Spinks is not the best not at 160 or 154. I wanna see JT unify the titles again, anything else is a let down.
Who's better then Spinks at 154 that's actually there to fight him?

Taylor is huge for a 160 lb fighter though, he shouldn't be looking at 154 lber's anyway! There's nobody at 154 lb who could beat Taylor he's just too big. He should be looking at 168 lb fights.

Mora vs Duddy or Bonsante though, that's a good matchup. I'd like to see that fight and to be honest Mora has only had 19 fights so he shouldn't be looking at a fight with Jermain Taylor yet anyway.

He went into the Contender having had 11 pro fights. Give the guy a chance I say, let him build his record up a little and go for bigger fights a year or so down the line.

I'd love to see him in with John Duddy though, that would be one hell of an entertaining fight imo.

I agree. Mora's still a "prospect" in my book. Why they push Manfredo after he lost twice I got no clue, he just fought Spina(who is Spina ) And so people think he can upset Joe Calzaghe Because of Roach in his corner right? Roach is now training Oscar so who is Manfredo going to have in his corner come fight time with Joe

I don't understand why Roach(whom I have a lot of respect for) would abandon an up and coming fighter before the biggest fight of his career to train someone who's had many big fights before and could work with any trainer.

If I was roach i'd have stayed with manfredo personally.

Sergio Mora did the right thing by pulling out of this fight. (At least this is what DiBully said)

Sergio lacks so much experience it's not even funny. He does not have a long amateur record either. Sergio is nothing more than a prospect (If that). He is not even a Contender although he has the label thanks to the Contender show. He needs to stay busy and fight guys in the top 10/15 and see if he can contend. Had he gone up against Taylor, he would have been another Paulie Malignaggi who's biggest claim to fame is getting his azz kicked by Cotto. I don't think this is the kind of attention Sergio is looking for. As far as Peter Manfredo Jr. is concerned, I think he is just fighting for the money. He wont come to fight. I am sure he will hug all night and try to survive by doing just that. If he cuts Calzaghe in a clash of heads this might build up Peter's confidence but it will not be enough to win. We shall see April 7th. Here is hoping Calzaghe does what Champions do to nobodys

Mora should fight the winner of the Duddy vs. Bonsante fight.
I love that idea, but I doubt it would happen. Sergio would NEVER come to NYC or Boston to fight Duddy, and that's were Duddy can sell tickets. If the fight is in LA, Sergio is the draw and he will demand the lions share of the money to go along with his home court advantage. Mora would need to fight him in a place with friendly judges, cuz his only hope is points. Personally, I would love to see Duddy go in to Mora's territory and knock his head off in front of his own people.

I love that a lot of people think JT would blow through Pavlik!!! That is such a joke. Then tell JT to just sign on the dotted line!!!!! And we could see what would happen... Pavlik wins by KO..

Here's my problem...all champions at 160lbs go up & down the ladder...or the lower champs go up...however you look at it...what Taylor is doing is getting to be a bit ridiculous.

He needs to atleast fight a half-legit 160lber before fighting lighter men.

    Taylor's proven to be a rather...slack champ.

Honestly...I think I'm done. Win, lose, or draw. He's proven to be nothing more than an HBO honeypot.

What is this prediction based on? What does Pavlik do better than Taylor?

Wow, can't agree with this at all. After beating Hopkins twice, Taylor could have chosen any stiff for an easy title defense. Instead he takes on the single biggest challenge he could find at 160, Winky Wright. I could care less if Winky's not a natural 160 pounder, there was no natural 160 pounder who would have provided a tougher challenge.

I was not impressed at all by Taylor's performance against Ouma from a technical standpoint, but I don't see how someone can criticize his willingness to take on tough opponents.

Whilst I agree with you Sweetpea that Taylor should be commended with fighting some tough opposition, there is no need for him to fight a much much smaller Spinks when there are legitimate competitors in his own weight class and after having already fought the smaller Winky and Ouma,it's time for him to step it up against a legit 160 pounder such as Miranda,Pavlik etc or move up and seek a challenge but don't fight someone so much smaller!!

And Maj,as for Spinks not having anyone else to fight,I'll put $$$ on Travis Simms beating him,he could rematch Karmazin, theres Rivera who is a decent draw, there;s Vernon Forrest,Kassim Ouma could move down and there is ABSOLUTELY NO WAY you or anyone else can say he is conclusively the best fighter at 154.

Miranda and Pavlik are scheduled to fight each other. And the reason is that HBO wants to showcase and build up the winner before matching him against Taylor.
Taylor needs an opponent for May. He can't move up to 168 and fight Calzaghe, because he is fighting at the beginning of April and therefore won't be available. Plus, haven't we already read some places that Calzaghe doesn't want to fight Taylor??

It's easy to say, "Taylor should fight this guy or this guy or this guy," but if they're not available, what's he supposed to do?
