Well, we are assuming that this is 147 Trinidad vs 147 Cotto. So it is the same weight class. But I agree with everything else you said.

prime tito would knock cotto's head off. cotto comes foward and thats exactly what tito wants. it gives tito oppurtunities to land that huge left hook over and over again. My pick is tito by knockout in round 6.

This was the style for Tito. Sort of like Hearns/Duran. A guy there to be hit.. Easy win for Tito.. Cotto is overrated.

The quote "every time i read this" implies that you hear this hypothesis on a regular basis.
The reason for this is simple; it is a commonly held belief that Shane is better than Felix.

The easiest and most obvious comparison that can be drawn is common competition; DLH.
In reality Oscar beat Felix, (incredibly close i no and i do realise the judges decision was final,) but Shane beat Oscar comprohensively. The difference between the two fights was that oscar was in gear for the entire fight with Shane, he didn't lay off at all.

After that point it's entirely specualation, but from my point of view, shanes speed athleticism and skills were too much for the good-but one dimensional Trinidad.

Ah yes, the DLH fight, I remember. Look, DLH did a great job on that fight, he boxed Tito in a way he had never boxed before or since. It was in many ways his best performance in the ring for at least 8 or 9 rounds. You already know who I thought won that fight so I won't discuss it here.

Thing is Mosley does not fight like DLH fought Tito. Contrary to popular opinion, Mosley is not and never was a great boxer. He has always been a brawler. Yes he is fast, athletic and can punch but he is not very defensive minded. He would get hit and get hit often by one of the most accurate and precise punchers in the game in Trinidad (not to mention he was also the biggest puncher in that weightclass). I just don't see Mosley ever beating Trinidad, especially not the Trinidad that dominated the 147 lb division in the 90s.

Well I thought ODH won the Tito as well as the second Mosely fight. I think that there have been very few punchers from 140-160 that could beat Tito, but I think that Winky/BHop/Oscar showed that a great technical boxer can really frustrate Trinidad. Shane has the skills to outbox tito, but the question is could he stay disciplined and not get drawn into a slugfest. If he stays with the right gameplan I think he wins a definitive UD or late round stoppage, but if he tries to brawl with Tito he'd get ko'd inside 8 rounds.

Mosely's chin can never be underestimated, as the fight never happened we can never say with 100% certainty that either fighter would have won. However with 99% certainty i can say that Trinidad would not stop shane Mosely, furthermore in my view that is the only way trinida would have beaten Mosely. The volume of punches that Mosely throws in comparison to the one-three shot combos Felix threw for me would see Shane winning a UD

And it baffles me how you compare David Reid to Shane Mosley.

CC Rookie Fan. I don't see Shane beating Tito either. Tito's height, jab and power would hurt Shane badly. Shane has never been a box and move type fighter and that is the style Oscar used. Shane stands and trades and uses his superior handspeed to win fights. However,Tito, much like Vernon has the height and an awesome jab. Tito would win v Shane hands down for me.

And there is no such thing as 99% sure Tito would not stop him.Tio at 147 and 154 could stop anyone who would stand and trade with him.It was a 99% sure thing that Shane would beat Vernon.heck Vernon hurt and beat on Shane in their first fight.

So to those who say Shane woul beat Tito,I ask how?
